Blaine's Bed of Chaos Tutorial Video!

So I made this lousy tutorial video for the Bed of Chaos over 8 months ago for the wiki, and I always meant to make a better one. Well... I got lazy. But now I finally did it! Better late than never, I guess.

Just want to say: the video quality isn't very good, because I filmed it with my phone. The audio is worse, though! At least I was able to overlay the original soundtrack's BoC theme, so that sounds good. There are no in-game sounds, though. And my narration isn't great--especially when my damn loud computer fan kicks in. I tried cutting away most of the fan noises when I wasn't speaking, but I'm not equipped to clean up the audio any better.

Don't expect many videos from me in the future because of how much of a pain it is for me to make them! But if you have requests, let me hear them and I might be convinced otherwise.

Oh, by the way, brand new youtube account! I got rid of my old one and made this new one--much happier with the screen name.

Anyone know how I can change to a specific thumbnail? All I get are 3 lousy screenshots to choose from as thumbnails, but I'd like it to be the title page I bothered to make instead.

I like this video. I can't record but my guide suggests similar tactics to defeat this boss. I have recently been experimenting with going to the left first and found that if you hug the left wall and desrtoy that orb first, you can run for the right orb via the path you took and it isn't nearly as stressful as doing the right orb first.

I've never really bothered trying to go for the left orb first for two reasons:

- I heard you couldn't take out the right orb with a bow. I don't know if this is true or not, but I do know you can take out the left orb with a bow!

- I haven't died to the BoC in over 8 months! Don't really see why I would change my tactic if it works so well.

But if going left first works for you, then that's great. Variety is what makes Dark Souls such a great game, so if we can have varied and dependable tactics for taking out the BoC, then it'll only make the game more enjoyable for us! I'd be interested in hearing a more detailed description of your left-orb-first approach.

Unless my memory is serving me incorrectly - if you take out the left one first, there is a spot on the right one you need to jump across (this was on my very first play through - maybe I just wasn't exploring that area well enough)... I just recall falling to my death trying to make a jump like 20 times.

If you take on the right one first, no need to jump working your way towards the left one - just need to time your movements to avoid the swipes. Been able to clear it 1st try on my last three characters by going to the right one first, quit/re-load, left and taking it out melee, then the center.

^Both are viable. Left orb first can be faster, but right orb first is safer. Up to you!

Nice vid. Ninja flipping under her sweep to get to the right orb is harder than my method, though. Especially if you're doing co-op, and the lag is very hard to gauge. It's a great tactic, just more dangerous than mine.

I have a hint of an accent, don't I? I never hear it when I speak, but I did in the voice-over. Well... I haven't been speaking English as much as usual lately, and been alternating it with french a lot, so they're starting to mix!
