by Tolvo Sat Feb 11, 2012 12:47 pmI was curious, has anyone else ever been playing and witnessed some sort of Black Phantom looking crab creature? I remember the first time I was at the Sunlight Altar when one startled the hell out of me, and ever since then I rarely see these creatures, kill them and get very few souls. What is there purpose, and what is causing them to spawn? Are these at all related to Gravelords cursing an area?

Vagrants are what they are called, they spawn from other players leaving items on the ground or uncollected blood stains.

The first I ever fought was a weak one, but I was resting next to a bonfire not paying attention, when I moved my camera and it filled the whole screen and literally made me jump. Then I hit it twice, I fought another one about an hour later that Rocked me and made me waste around four flasks. I've fought over fifty of them so far, I don't know why but I'm always finding them.

I've seen two this week. My first was in the swamp near the bonfire in the lower levels of Blighttown and my second, making a mighty racket was in the New church in the burg, just by where the firekeeper soul is. He shot a load of pew pews at me and then I slapped him with my Gravelord Greatsword. He dropped twin humanity when he died. Anyone know if they drop rarer items the larger they get?
