Concerning Duelists

let me just make this rather clear. If you invade my world, in the burg, kiln, anor londo, blight town, or any other designated "PvP Area", and you do NOT FIND ME standing in the arena, or next to any of the bonfires... Leave.

That's right, i'm being rather clear here, if i am not in your designated PvP area, don't expect a duel when you find me. Just stop that. As soon as you start searching for me outside the designated PvP area of a duelist, you have agree'd to an invasion. Expect everything, shut up, and don't send me hatemail. You will see a lot of things out here, you'll see hosts with phantoms, just playing through the level, you'll see hosts that hide and backstab you as you pass by... on the rare occasion you might even see an undead rapport cast on enemies you expected were on your side. expect the worst, because you only have yourself to blame for not having made like a tree, and leafed.

i though everyone knew that already.

Bring your worst, if you are truly questing. If you are waiting there with 2 of your best Giant MoM buddies, that is another thing entirely.

I'm not even question, i'm just not dueling. I play hide and seek with invaders, it's what i do, and what i love. If you were hunting me down and get killed in one or two hits before you even saw me, it's your fault for not BCing.

I make a quick runthrough. If I don't find the host, I bc out. Got better things to do.

Yup Yup.. just don't be shocked if that host pops around that last corner and backstabs ya. (Not via lag, actually getting behind you and doing an appropriate BS)

That wouldn't bother me. The only thing that bothers me is if the host is waiting with a few buds and ganks.

Not the same, but something kinda similar happened last night while I was PvPing on pc.

Mostly I was summoning dark spirits via RSS. I get invaded by some guy who runs and hides, probably with an intent similar to yours, Rynn. I just stayed where I was and kept summoning player after player, and the guy never came out from wherever he'd hidden. Probably 7 or 8 matches go by and I'm already almost 2 hours late getting to bed, so I message him that I was turning in for the night and to come up if he wants to duel.

He came up and I was surprised to find he was actually pretty good. Took me down to about 1/4 hp.

It was kind of funny that he stayed hidden so long while I was having a good old time.

I tend not to do it as in invader unless i am in the forest... but yes, sounds similar to how i play.
when people corner me and -force- me to fight, most are surprised that i can hold my ground without deceit too... he probably is just like me, and just got bored of dueling c:

Pretty much sums it up for me.

Personally, i hate people who are playing hide and seek. I wouldn't send you hate mail, but if you weren't waiting for me when i invade you again then i would just BC out. I'm here to PvP not to play hide and seek. But if we have arranged it, and i know what i'm going to do, then it would probably be a lot of fun.

I agree with what yo're saying though. I shouldn't expect a duel unless you're waiting for me.

Quick question about undead rapport. Can you (as a invader) hurt the creature/NPC that it brainwashes?

yes. The creature is now considered hostile and you can kill it if you so desire. I tend to brainwash an entire army however, and attack at the same time.

For a second i thought that the invader couldn't hurt the overpowered NPC that you send against them .

Random aside, I've been seeing a lot more invaders BC back out on the PS3. At first I thought they just didn't want to run through the level if the host wasn't nearby, but I now think what they're doing is checking "players met" as soon as they arrive. If they see more than just the host among their new players at the top of the list, they know the host has phantoms with them and decide to look somewhere else. I have mixed feelings about this since it does keep the host alive and in fact blocks other invasions for a time, but on the other hand I gotta throw fireballs at something here people.

I don't expect a duel if I'm invading, I rarely bow anymore, never if the host is away from the fire. What's your PSN Rynn? I want to know you if I ever run into you.

Befowler, i also check my players met list, but not to black crystal out, to be an ***. If i have read that the host has a phantom, i immediately backstab them. Usually a phantoms comes running out to save him, but it's too late.

I'm glad they fixed that. It may sound ridiculous, but UR might have been broken otherwise.

It was, in certain area's of the game it was a deadly spell on NG+7

Oh, I just assumed you were PSN because I remember a post you wrote a while ago saying you were done with the game for a while after reaching #1 in the PSN book of the guilty, my memory must be faulty.

Funfact, i was #1 in the book of the guilty, but on PSN i would have only been #4, IIRC.
