Outfit in my sig. Started using it when I decided to go form over function. I wanted something dark and gothic. I think I found it! haha

Dingy robe, Cleric leggings, Paladin gauntlets, witch hat.

Black sorcerer chest, Bloody skirt, wanderer manchette, dusk crown on female toon.

Ornstein's Armor, Havel's gauntlets and leggings, Helm of the Wise. As a red Phantom you look like Satan ready to go to war.

I've never seen that male character's setup; is it honestly common?
Gauntlets don't matter so much, but they were there for an actual, viable build. Either use that or Havel's. Look like some kind of stripper, but you can actually win without a peice of torso armour (usually the best bang for your buck).

Well it's designed for mid-rolling, so yeah it's a bit weighty. It's only one piece of the Giants, don't get your panties in a twist lol.

Believe me, I tried looking for another Leg piece, but that one matches so much better than the others.
