Stunlocked by a claymore 1h r1 with 66 poise?

I was doing some invading in the painted world when I came upon a host and white phantom progressing through. As i proceeded to battle the two foes the host got me with a dead angle from his claymore 1h r1, and then proceeded to stunlock me to death. I was stunned after the first hit and hadn't taken any damage prior, I've never had this happen before but I just wanted to share my experience.

That's really odd, you need 36 poise to take 1 hit from a 1 handed greatsword type weapon's r1. I wonder what happened o.O

Yeah, it was quite strange. Granted it was a lightning claymore I doubt it would make much of a difference against 66 poise haha.

There is a mod that makes all weapons do 350 poise damage a hit, stunning bosses.
I have never seen an invader use it, but i see it happen a lot when i'm invading, which leads me to believe for the most part, PvP'ers keep their hands off of it.

Because of this trick, i used to think Quelaggs Fury Sword did 53 poise damage.

So glad i am on ps3, **** like tthis is to much

I play on XBOX and have seen a vast increase in hacks/mods/glitches in recent weeks, but have yet to come across a Poise Damage hack/mod/glitch.

Its mostly just health/no damage hacks/mods/glitches.

The poise hit seems more game breaking then a health hack. I want to just use a rapier or dagger and stun loc , and be funny but so annoying.

Well that makes since considering I was stunlocked by not only a chaos blade but a BSS starting on the first hits last night.

The only reason you see more of it on Xbox is because it's easier to do. That's the ONLY reason. There's no difference between players on either console, obviously.

^ Shouldn't even have to be said. Console wars are so silly, it is funny to watch them argue sometimes. While those things are possible on 360, if they were on ps3 there would be just as many cases. I find people who use lag switches on Ps3, so it is not like cheaters don't exist.

Sometimes I wonder if poise is like endurance. It has to refill. So, if you have 40 poise, a weapon hits you for 36. 4 poise left. In 1 second (for example), your poise has regenerated to 32. Now, that 36 poise weapon will stunlock you.

I'm pretty sure it works like that, but I thought of it more as a poison or bleed meter.

yah i am near certain that poise has a 'stamina' bar. also, yes, players in ps are no different, and obviously if it were easy there would be hax on ps aswell. seriously, i don't think i could handle that sh*t in this game, some days i am very glad i play on ps. i DO wish i could do non game destroying mods as in changing appearance of things, that would be SIK fun. i have been wondering if in the future pc modders will create new levels/pvp modes. not sure how possible that stuff is but it would be AWESOME

Havels shield does not increase poise.
Havels shield in reality applies a buff that makes all attacks cause bouncing (as if you hit a wall)

If you use it on a 0 poise character they can poise through hits without being stunned initially. Although a direct increase in poise is not visually shown, we realize not all modifiers are shown. For example power within's damage increase is not shown in the stats.

Also, my point was to "prevent a stun on the first hit". If a bounce was the result of them attacking, it would be a good defense against these sort of hackers.

yea poise hits are like a reverse stamina or bleed meter, ive tanked a ultra gs blow to then get poked a sec later by a rapier and it stuns first hit cause my poise was lowered a huge amount by the ultra gs swing

I was just going to say that was a possible cause, it happens all the time. Some people are really good at timing it to get surprise stunlocks on you. Like Xuitus mentioned, getting hit with a rapier a second after a UGS hit. I kind of wish it was a visible status bar, it seems to fill at a rate somewhere between stamina and bleed. Actually i would love to see more in depth testing on it, i know EWGF did a light test on it a while ago.
