Gonna try to challenge myself

I decided i would try to challenge myself before the DLC is released by doing something i'm horrible at. Playing as an archer.

I will try to use the bow at all times. Against bosses, in pvp, just as much as possible, though with some kind of backup weapon of course. So here it is, any advice appreciated:

Have poison arrows and another type equipped

I would go for the composite bow, it's a little faster than Pharis' bow, which is a much needed atribute.
Put some points from Dex into Str to make the bow's damage a little better.
Also, you still have 4 spare weight points....maybe some heavier/better armor.
And you might as well put 1 extra point into Att to get 1 slot for perhap Great Combustion, unless you really don't want to use pyro.

Give yourself a worse backup weapon, so you won't be so tempted to use it. I'd recommend the regular Longsword.

Yeah, i plan on having maxed amount of all arrows for a great variety.

I was considering some heavy armor to it, but i kind of liked some of the stats that were offered with that set. i'll take it into consideration. As for the composite bow, i had no idea, thanks, i'll keep it in mind, and no, no pyro.

Hah, i had something like that in mind. I was actually going to use daggers at first. But i decided i'd go with something that can actually help if i end up failing 99.99% of the time. I do like the longsword though, i'll keep that in mind.

As for the dragonslayer bow and crossbows, i've used them too often, so i've gotten kind of fond of them and would probably end up using them too much if i had it in the build, so i'd rather just avoid it.

Actually, daggers are really good in this game. And they make a really fun playthrough. So I agree that you shouldn't use one as your backup weapon, but because you should do a dagger playthrough as well!

I saw a Japanese player use a Short bow with Dragonslayer bow with Grass Crest on his back and was very effective, and I tried to imitate their build. Was using the DWGR though, so I had to change it:

@goober Thanksm looks interesting. Though the same thing i said about dragonslayer bow applies to goughs bow though.
