Havel or wolf when mid rolling?

I usually use the dragon body, but when i don't i always mid roll with tons of poise.
I've been experimenting with both of these rings, but i don't know which one is better. Wolf ring tends to give you more total poise, while havels lets you wear more armor and have better defense. Which one of these would be more useful?

If you're mid rolling havels would be the better choice, at least that is what i've gathered from my experience with mid rolling STR builds.

I always go favor and wolfs when I mid\fat roll.

Same, unless I have a lot of poise even without Wolf's, and Havel's manages to push my rolling capacity back to Fast again.

i use wolf for fast and fat roll with havels for mid roll or to reach fastroll if i have adequate poise, always with the favor ring in any case.

Honestly if I'm midrolling it's because I'm using a damage ring. Usually FaP/Leo. If I'm using Wolf's or Havel's it's only so I can fastroll with poise. If you've resolved to midroll, what do you need extra equip for? You're midrolling anyway. And you're probably tanking, so I figure the ring that best fits the loadout is Leo. You don't need 100+ poise anymore. GS don't stunlock now. Just set up to be able to eat two dex hits at 63ish and start slamming people with the Leo. My crystal Hal/Leo midroller is countering at 700-900 damage. Hell, I've seen it break a thousand.

When i mid roll i do it with str weapons, so MSGS, GC/LC, DGM, DGA and GA. With those i usually don't need a ring that bosts my damage. I use armor with them because i get tired of people who cancel my attacks with a dex weapon. I go for 77 poise, so that i can resist pretty much everything.
I can get 77 with both rings. But with havel i can get more heavy armor (=more def) while i can get more max poise with wolf.

I go RoFaP+Havels, i can almost always have 76poise,a great shield(or heavier weapon), and a 16lbs weapon or more. RoFaP+wolf can get you poise, but it is much harder to get 76poise and still have equip any of the heavier strength weapons.

If you can hit your poise mark either way then it seems obvious the higher def (Havel's) is what you should go with. Poise, to me, is a stat that should be built to a goal, whereas more def is always better.

To answer your question, why not use both at the same time?
My mid roller uses havels plus wolf for 76 poise. He can have various weps equipped at the same time or have 2 different shields saving my need to quickswitch.


Usually, I stack enough End to fast roll with 76 poise honestly. As I see no benefit to mid rolling.

Currently I am working on my first strength mage for arena sl 99 and he employs Wolf plus Havel but only wears leggings. Shield is a super light Buckler, but man my wep is damn heavy lol.
