Useless Boss Souls

Why is it that all the weapons that can be made using boss souls are so useless for dex builds. Its either too high requirements in str or completely unrelated to dex. Not that it affects gameplay, its just boring using the same 1 or 2 weapons for the entire campaign.

that was the point though, the devs wanted you to become "attached" to the weapon you use.

But thats only for dex. Str gets so much unique weapons. Even int has different catalysts + MBH and MLGS

works for a dex/faith build although the scaling is lack luster

For pure dex I would probably prefer Pharis +15, but bows don't have a lot of uses anyway.

Chaos Blade is one of the best weapons for a dex build. Sooooo....one! haha!

Lifehunt is very mean in the right hands. That's a heavy dex scalling weapon.That scythe is second only to the dragon slayer for boss weapons IMO. Looking at it by numbers strength and faith does seem favoured.

yeah str gets more specials but they're heavy as hell and can often leave you open for strikes...

I disagree completely. Chaos blade is the best katana if you don't buff. QFS is the longest curved sword (that means a lot), lifehunt scythe is stronger than the regular one (even if it is a bit shorter) and the bleed is terrifying.
Especially QFS is underrated in my opinion. A lot of people love the falchion, but the range that the QFS has gives it a clear advantage.

And, dex a has more variety overall.). Str has very few good weapons to choose from, while dex can pick pretty much anything.

My build only allows 14 Str this is very sad. Can't use any of those. Oh well.

Where is this extra 100 coming from? Its not physical, magic, fire or lightning dmg. Wtf?

That's 100 critical damage. All weapons have that, but some have more than 100.
That's the damage boost you get from BS/parries.

I hear qfs falls short on damage at higher soul levels compared to most +15 weapons

Yes, but it's range and speed makes up for the low damage.

I just so happen to have a +10 falchion and quelaag soul sitting in my inventory :\. I may make the sword and test it out as it happens to have only 13 str requirement. Thanks for the input guys, if its not what I'm looking for I guess I'll just stick with my uchi/bss/ricards etc...

160? Then Bandit's Knife and Richard's Raiper comes up in second Place with 150.

Ricards does not have 150 critical, it only has 100.
And the bandits knife has 147.

Rapiers seem to have invisible crit modifiers that make them do more dmg than they state.

Yes, but ricards still isn't very good at dealing crits. the regular rapier is the best at that.

I'm just miffed that GSOA needs not just high strength, dex and faith. All of which make sense. But also int? Really? Why do I need to be smart enough to use a sword? :|

Life Hunt, Best bleed in game.
Gold Tracer, amazing weapon basically a Falchon + Bleed with better R2s
Silver Tracer, highest crit damage dagger.


not sure why you say Dex boss weapons are lame.
