I've never really used it and the Wiki sites don't mention it, but I was wondering if you could parry with the Dark Hand. Thanks!

Re: Can you parry with Dark Hand?
Yes.
edit; it has a fast parry like most smal shields which means faster recovery after parrying an not like the damn parrying dagger and target shiel/buckler which will get you bs'ed a lot.

You can't do a set-up parry, though, because you'll get knocked back somewhat when you block.

What's a "set-up parry?" I want to be able to do a parry/riposte "combo". Is that possible? Also, any thoughts on whether or not this would be consistent with a Geralt (aka The Witcher) build? (click link below in my sig to see the details I've created around it).
Thanks for all the input! I've said it before and I'll continue to say it: this is a great community.

Re: Can you parry with Dark Hand?
I use set-up parries against those idiots who try to make dents in my beautiful shield You block the first swing and then parry the second.
And yes; you can parry (and then riposte) with the dark hand:)
I don't really know anything about 'The Witcher' though.

Re: Can you parry with Dark Hand?
I think the Knockback is really usefull .
You block get knocked back and your opponents next swing misses leaving him open (Especially Battle Axers) .
Yep Dark Hand is a pretty darn good Shield

Re: Can you parry with Dark Hand?
Im actually thinking of using the dark hand. Given it has such low stability, what i've noted is it barely has any stamina drain.. idk maybe im wrong. But it has 80% protection against EVERYTHING. In my opinion, dark hand is super OP. and im switching the Silver Knight Shield for Dark Hand on my Artorias Build ASAP.
