Dumb question number 2

O.K. so I've downloaded the extra content or rather I think I have. How do I know it's on there? Do I have to go to a specific area to find it. I gather it's something to do with Dusk of Oolacile, so I went down to the lake and everything was as I left it. No Hydra and Dusk's summons sign as normal. Am I right in thinking that I have to finish the game I'm on with my character and then start all over again before the DLC kicks in? O.K. I know that's three dumb questions but any answers would be very welcome.

I don't want to give away any spoilers but... after you get the DLC, a certain enemy shows up that drops a certain item when you kill it (not a 100% drop apparently, but it respawns). You take the dropped item to another certain area to access the DLC.

First you have to save Dusk, then go kill a very out of place enemy in the Dukes archives, He's in the very first area so he's not hard to miss, then go back to the place where you saved dusk

Actually, I believe it is a 100% item, most people that havent got it seem to have failed to save dusk first.

Every time ive killed it and have saved dusk first I get it first try.

It is a 100% drop. If you didn't get it than you've done something wrong before hand, but thankfully the enemy respawns, so if you killed it and didn't get it you can try to remedy whatever you messed up, as long as that wasn't killing Dusk, and then try again.

Well from what i know you first have to kill the hydra, save dusk, talk to her at the lake, go to Dukes archives, kill the crystal golem in the first room, take the broken pendant back to the lake, exaine the dark cloud where the gold golem was, and bam your in the dlc....... The rest is for you to figure out. Good Luck.
