White sign/invading

Wtf, I placed my white soapy and then the message came "invading another world". So I invaded as a black phantom, but I placed my white stone, weird??? It was in Oolacile township btw.

Odd bug. Seen it happen where someone put down a RED sign and was summoned as a phantom instead.

Happened to me a few months ago. I entered the world as a black phantom. The host seemed as surprised as me. I tried to Black Separation Crystal out, but, as I do that, the host sends a GFB at my face. I didn't want to fight, but if the host did, then I figured I might as well put up a good fight with what little health I had left. The host died in about 15 seconds.

ive had this happen as well but only when i had the cat cov ring in my inventory. after i drop it ive never had it happen. its like the game gets confused

Yea I've red orb invaded through a white soap stone 2 or 3 times, its seems like some error when the game is searching for available players to connect to it glitches the wrong connection type. Only ended up invading as a red phantom, once via a WSS in the forest and a dragons eye in the burg. Both times I messaged the host and they hadn't hit any signs however they had at least one white phantom with them at the time of invasion, so maybe that causes it?

I have had the same happen I think it does have something to do with Forest covenant. I had White sign down in forest and got summoned as a Red phantom. The host did have a summon with him.

This is a glitch that happens every now and again. Sometimes you'll show up as the wrong phantom type. When you do, you'll function as you'd expect based on your color, not the co-op/ invasion item you initially used.

It's probably fairly rare, I'd guess it happens in less than 1/100 connections, maybe even far less. It can happen in any area, but probably occurs most often in the Forest because of the heavy traffic. I've only ever been summoned as the wrong phantom type there (invading and appearing as white for co-op, leaving a white sign and invading as red, and invading as Forest Hunter but invading as red), but I've seen a video of it happening in Sen's as well.

^This^ It seems to be caused by high traffic areas causing an overload, the forest being the most active pvp in the game. Otherwise it's just the forest area and the dragons eye which are both (fairly) common miss summons.

I can say it's certainly not very common in Anor Londo. I've done co-op for O&S at least 150 times and I've never showed up as anything other than what I was meant to be

That argument about the high traffic is true I think, because it happened in Oolacile township and that area is by far the most busy at the moment. Thanks everyone for clearing that up.

Cat cov ring, spawned as white phantom right at the steps just inside door, host backed up, messages me, " I didn't summon you ". I responded, that I was invading.

Also have spawned as a white phantom elsewhere in the forest and had to go find the host, probably confused as hell when they see me running towards them, too.
BUGS.

It once happened to me in New Londo Ruins. Except, I was invading someone and I ended up spawning like a Red Phantom, but being a White Phantom. Host was confused, but he enjoyed the help nevertheless.

I know i posted in another thread about it once, but i've been summoned as a golden phantom while invading as a blue, as well as a red one. I have also been summoned as a white while being a Sunbro, as well as invading as a blue and red phantom.
