    Un-Parryable Attacks Empty Un-Parryable Attacks

Post by Rudmed Sun Nov 11, 2012 8:45 pm

I have always wondered what attacks are un-parryable. I know there are two for certain and that is the scythe running attack (where they do their little hop or skip) and the great hammer rolling attacks.

Are there any other attacks that are cannot be parried?

    Whips.

Also Hammer rolling and running Scythe, you can parry those. It's just really hard to time.

Dead angles of course cannot be parried.

Jumping attacks can be partial parried.

What about the 2-handed overhead club smash?

I don't think their parry-ability has been proven yet.

    Which club?

If it is the tiny club, you should be able to partial parry it. I think it counts as a jump.

People have parried the DKGA 2H special. If it isn't a jump attack, dead angle, whips or the great club 2H rolling move; you can parry it.

Billy and I tested this not long ago; he tried to parry my GC rolling attack for 15 minutes and didn't get it once. If it's possible, it's so difficult as to be unviable in PvP.

I'm afraid I need to say "Video or it isn't possible", I have never seen or heard of a successful parry on the rolling attack. Attacks can't be that hard to parry because the parry requires the move to happen during its active frames so it registers. So every attack has the same frames as every other move, the timing is the difference.

The reason it is so difficult to parry the GC is because of the fact that when you parry, it is often considered to be dead angling. It involves you predicting exactly where the enemy will end their roll, and the direction the strike will be landing. You have to then put yourself in exactly the right spot. And if you are in that spot more or less, they will slightly alter their direction. If not, then you have to time it just right to land the parry.

Essentially, you have to know way too much for it to be reasonable to parry it.

You can technically do it, but the few times I've managed were total flukes.

But, if it is considered to be dead-angled, then why can you partial parry it so easily? Last I checked, you can't even partial parry a dead-angle, or at least you could try but you would take full damage, not the 70% reduction.

I'm not entirely sure really, because you are right about that. My only guess is that the area for a partial parry isn't as tight on that weapon. But that doesn't make much sense to me. I wish I had the PC version and coding skills.

Hmm... Dead angles can be blocked by turning your back to the attacker, so maybe they can be parried too. It is not really viable, but i'm wondering if it's possible in theory.

Its possible a dead angle only really works if I'm unlocked and your locked on for instance....if both people are unlocked a dead angle can be parried...I've done it and had my dead angles parried many times by friends that were unlocked....they just have to unlock and turn into the swing like you said how to block a dead angle!

I have parry'd every attack possible but the GC rolling R1 it maybe possible but its a shot in the dark!

The GS running R1 is easy if you know the timing and get close tho!
