Gold tracer, dark tracer. PvP, PvE

I have seen many topics based on these 2 weapons, seems to be they finally initiated an effective duel wielding set in dks, however ive seen all these threads about these 2 weapons but alot of people fail to answer my question about whether or not these actually do quite well in pvp, as well as boss fights for PvE.

Duel wielding them is hard, but both of them are very effective in the right hand. They're better for PvP in general because bleed and Toxin actually mean something, not to mention the GT's DPS when two handed.

well from what ive researched the gold tracer is a must in the left hand, however, i faced a duel wielding tracer and i destroyed him, he got a lucky backstab every now and then but overall i felt like it wasnt the way it was meant to played, i think a really strong build can be built around it, perhaps SL 120 or aroudn there.

The gold tracer resembles the paiting guardian sword, with higher range and bleed effect.

Its useful in left hand, but you must remember that you can't parry, which I find very strange because I thought the point was to parry with the gold one and riposte with the silver one.

Well, i guess another question im asking, is how does a tracer dex build fare with a different dex build? katana, etc. damage wise.

The Gold Tracer is definitely not a must in the offhand, especially for PvP. Its offhand moveset consists of only multi-hit attacks, so you're inevitably stuck in long animations that leave you completely vulnerable.

The Gold Tracer in the main hand though, two handed, is a beast. You can make a very good mid level build around it, too. Here: http://mmdks.com/bjs --just add Vit as desired and it's a powerful low/ mid level build.

I see, im mainly looking to build a 120 dex build however, and was simply researching whether or not the dual tracers could actually beat most dex builds. At that level of course.

SL120 is high enough for you to build a character with 4 good stats (usually Vit and End, plus a combination of 2 out of Dex, Str, Int, or Fth). Since the Gold Tracer doesn't require any Str and can't be buffed, you're looking at 3 out of 4 main stats (Vit, End, Dex), leaving you a lot of levels to spare for an extra stat.

That stat could either be a lot of Att, in which case you could stack a lot of pyro spells. Or you could still invest in Int or Fth for their spells, only you wouldn't be able to take advantage of their buffing spells.

So while you're making your SL120 with 3+1 main stats, be aware that you'll be coming up against SL120s that are fully taking advantage of 4 main stats. This could be a disadvantage. However, the Gold Tracer is such a competent weapon (two-handed) that it will still be very viable at that SL. Especially because of its bleed.

So you can make yourself a 3+1 build if you like, or you can aim for a lower SL (say: 100, where you'd only be focusing on the 3 main stats you need) and make an absolute killer build centered on the Gold Tracer.

Interesting, ive made many successful builds, but i always find dex the hardest thanks!

The silver tracer is amazing in the mainhand if you're good with parries. You primarily use the R2 to get toxin off, and you're playing a much more defensive style. Forcing your opponent to eventually get parried as toxin slowly (rather quickly actually) takes them down.

Stamina is a major constrant when duel weilding as well as the gold tracer locking you in a move set for extended periods of time which leave you open to stunlocking.

its hard to imagine a build that could use such weapons together.

Edit: Dont get me wrong im not saying there bad im just saying their benifits seem to be taken better advantage of separately.

P.s the Gold tracer destroys health hackers.
