I don't know if someone did research on this or not, I'm just too lazy to look through the forums.

When you kill someone in pvp, you get souls. My question is:
What defines how many souls you get for killing said person? Is it the amount he/she has on them? Or is it based on his/her level?

I do know that the souls you get in pvp increase drastically after killing Gwyn and going on to a new game.

It's based on their level.

I killed an invasor for 1500 souls. 1 minute later the same invasor dor 6k souls. He could have leveled sure but in such short time??
Any thoughts?

I've gotten 1.5 million souls before too, which shouldn't be possible, though this was version 1.1 or 1.2.

But what I don't get is when i only get about 300-600 souls a pvp kill... though most times its 1.2k which is still pretty lame. but eventually i will get lucky and invade some high level who gets killed and get 1million souls > big grin

Let me clarify this. I got 1.5k and then 6k. Not 1.5M. Sorry that i wasnt clear

I don't think that satisfies it. I think it is a combination of their level, the souls they have on them, what playthrough your on, and the difference in level from you to them.

As a host you get 50% of the souls a vader needs to level up. As a vader you get 10% of the souls the host needs to level up. Obviously the guy who you fought Silent levelled up between the vasions. And yes as a host its possible to get up to 3.5ish million souls from a vader.

This is ridiculous. I got 799k as a forest hunter. The host died as I was brought in. That means that he was a ludicrously high level.

Yep. There are a lot of max level gankers in the forest just trolling people. Just be happy when they die and you get all the monies.

Wait. If a person is max level, then he doesn't need any souls to level up. Because he can't. So according to you, Dough, then a max level invader or host would either give you 0 souls or souls to infinity, because they can't level up. So effectively, they don't need any so you don't get any, or the game is all like:

"Dafuq, he is max level. What do I give killer? Zzzzzzzz infinity......logic loop- error 404: souls not found." *game crash*

If it wasn't obvious, that was an attempt at trolling/being stupid/funny
