whip for lolz?

So...I was reading a thread about some weapons are more common than others and I got to thinking..why not make a build centered around a whip for the lolz?

Check out that Setup. I would like to know what more I could do to optimize it a bit more.

Sure. It's upgraded normally. The only thing that might convince me to use the Notched over it is the status effects. Poison is really nice for what I use it for, but if you were using a whip as your main weapon, the Notched does 300 bleed, vs. the Guardian Tail's 180 poison. So you'd be inflicting a lot more damage with the Notched, probably making it a more viable main weapon. Breaking poise is really nice though.

You could just go all out and dual wield them too. Use the GT the way I do, and swap it in and out with your shield. That actually prompts an interesting question. Can you inflict bleed and poison at the same time?

Whips can not parry nor backstab.

I'll have to test out the GT, But I do like the bleed of the notched whip....

That's the whole reason I use them. When I'm pvping and someone starts trying to parry me I pull out the GT and whip their hiney. Pun intended.

Yes poison, bleed and toxin can all build up simultaneously.

While you're right about the backstab part, whips are actually pretty great for parrying.
