Pure DEX questions

I have a pure DEX build now and I absolutely love it. However, I feel that I want to rearrange some stats around and start over with. My question is what's a good number to have DEX at? 50? I was thinking maybe 45. My current toon has it at dex60 vit/end40 and I wanna change that around probably to dex45 vit50 and end 43-44ish.

So what's a good DEX level?

Beyond 50 is pointless. 45 is what I'd reccomend. You'll get more out of having more vit.

I find that diminishing remains (less effective increase in damage) starts at about 40. 50 will get you a bit of extra damage but not usually worth it IMO.
All of my characters except one are DEX, and I usually stop at 40.

Dex speeds up casting times for sorcery/pyro, and it tops at 45 dex. It's a very significant difference. Of course, not as much between 40 and 45.

And what weapons are you guys using? I'm currently using the Iiato+15 on my DEX char. Thinking of keeping the same setup just increased vit and end to change around the armor selections a bit.

There are a LOT of dex weapons out there... I myself prefer the chaos blade and GS

Iaito+15 is my favourite. You might want some poise on that, so as long as the opponent isn't using a great sword or anything heavier you can win in a poise-break spam contest. I off-hand my pyro glove, and have worked wonders with this combo. Sometimes I surprise myself how effective this is.

Other good dex weapons are Estoc, Balder SS, scythes, and annoying spears.

I highly suggest the Great Scythe, Shotel, Parrying Dagger, Bandit's Knife, Ricard's Rapier, and if you can pull it off Painting Guardian Sword. Or their Soul Weapon equivalant: Lifehunt, Priscilla's Dagger.

Personally I love the Great Scythe, but I get PWNed A LOT from rapier users, they are really good weapons...

I have the Lifehunt and GS+14 they're not my most favorite move set. I win with them but they're just not fun to me. I think I'll try that Ricard's Rapier. Iiato is still my favorite right now. Also have the bandit's but without the ring my backstab isn't worth it. I have won with priscillas with a very heavy poise build.

Definitely do the Ricard's, it has a double R2 attack that can be deadly if it lands, and it's riposte is quite good!

Ricards and Great Scythe are some pretty badass weapons.
