title basically says it all i was in the book of the guilty recently and the first 2 guys have 50,000 indictments, which is already impossible, and they are SL 1 and 2 and have 99 points in 4 stats ...... -_- Like i understand if it wasn't obvious but hackers in dark souls really don't care about hiding it so do the designers even care??

Oh I'm sure the designers care but as long as you have people exploiting weakness in the programing there will always be hackers.

Hackers are mosquitos and the developers are a screen door. No matter what they do, they couldn't possibly catch them all. There's just too many players.

There are many players who can exploit glitches and errors the developers make for them to control the issue entirely. That is why developers release patches to fix some issues but there will people who try and get around them.

The problem is that there is really very little From can do to prevent hackers with their current game design, while they can patch out glitches and such there is really no feasible way for them to prevent hacking without completely redesigning the game from the ground up. They could try slinging around the ban hammer however they don't really have any way of knowing who is and isn't a hacker and sadly the players with the most obvious hacks are likely the least detrimental to the online community. For instance players with ludacris amounts of sin have been glitching and hacking their sin directly without actually invading regular players while those running around with 10K health would have normal rankings.
It's much more likely we'll see DkS II overhauled to prevent hacking, like servers that recognize impossible values and report the players or better yet prevent them from playing, like a forced offline mode.
