Anyway Petrus is met in the beginning of the game. If you are in the beginning as well start a new game.
If you don't care for miracles he doesn't matter much.

I think you mentioned being forgiven for your sins. There is a guy that can do it, but I think it only means that NPCs that are angry with you will no longer be angry. Definitely doesn't do anything on dead NPCs big grin
