I really don't want to have to buy a new console just to play the next Dark Souls and I'll be honest if I do Dark Souls II will be the only game I actually play on it.

I hope not. If so, then I hope DkS2 will be released 6-8 months after the ps4. Games released before developers have a chance to analyze the hardware capabilities are seldom good. Not always the case though I guess.
