brand new shortcut to lower undead burg discovered by ds pioneer

i scoured the interwebs trying to find someone else talking about this or a vid of it, but no dice . . my conclusion: i'm the first guy to discover this shortcut -- or i'm ineffective at googling . . take a look:

When I first started the game I actually saw a message that said "jump here". I'm sure they were just trying to get me kill myself, but who would have thought it could actually work.

Wow... This works. I've always wondered if you could jump there... It also looks easier than the shortcut to the lower burg i knew.

Nice, definitely looks easier than the other one.

What's next? Are we going to find a way to skip the Archives completely are just roll our way to the Crystal Cave? Crazy parkour players, man! They crazy I tell you.

Anyways, while this shortcut may seem easier, it is also the most dangerous. If you notice, he is stuck on a building that seems that only spreads out to death so the slightest mis-step will result in falling an dying. In addition, once you finish your fall, a dog will spawn and those are particularly nasty for low SL.

An additional problem is the need to have to deal with most of the l.U.B as opposed to the original shortcut which meant you only had to deal with 1/2 of it before you could open the shortcut back to Firelink; although I suppose this is a very quick way to get to Griggs.

That's pretty cool~ Though probably only good for suicide runs to Griggs, based on where you land.

Any other spots you can land from there that are less dangerous?

I have reached the Lower Undead Burg using the other shortcut. The invader spent almost an hour looking for me before he left

Oh heh that's nice to hear that it can be done like that and the phantom isn't automatically sent home or anything. So what's the other shortcut there then? I spent a long time trying to find one at some point when I was starting out with DkS and couldn't find anything.

the other shortcut involves a creative jump from the top of the roof where the long ladder leads with the throwing knives .. (near where the drake lands and scares you) . . searching youtube for it will make it show up ..

re: this shortcut, i was just excited to find another way to skip down to lower undead burg . . as far as how useful it is, it does get you close to the gate you can open near the bonfire, making a run down there easier . . it does get you close to griggs . . it could be used to mess with invaders i suppose . .

i was just excited that a game ppl have spent so much time dissecting can still yield secrets . . one of its many marks of greatness

That first jump (where he lands on a small rooftop) is my usual spot to hide out from gankers and now I have way to lose them for good! Awesome! +1
