Strongest Kingdom in Lordran

Astora - Advanced region ruled by royalty, known for it's powerful warriors, skilled craftsmen, and overall beauty.
Standard soldier equipment: Elite Knight set, Crest shield, Dragon crest shield, Astora's straight sword, and Binoculars

Balder - An ancient kingdom that was home of the legendary Knight King Rendal who killed a dragon with just his sword. People who come from there are Knight King Rendal, and the Balder Knights.
Standard soldier equipment: Balder Knight set, Balder Side sword, Balder shield, Rapier, and Target shield

Berenike - Knights of Berenike were giant men who could crush a Hollow with just their shield alone.
Standard soldier equipment: Black Iron Armor set, Steel Armor set, Greatsword, Greataxe, Mace, Tower Shield, Black Iron Greatshield

Catarina - A land known for it's cheerful inhabitants, festivity and drink. The gallant knights of Catarina are often mocked by others due to their armor, despite how effective it is for defense.
Standard soldier equipment: Catarina Armor set, pierce shield, blue tearstone ring, claymore, Zweihander

Lordran is the kingdom of the gods, to the north of the world. The other kingdoms are located outside of Lordran. Anyway from those 4 I would say Catarina, pretty much because there aren't many Catarina hollows in Lodran. Berenike and Balder lost most of its forces by going hollow, amd Astora is meh lol. Carim would pretty much win with all the gods there now though.

Assuming that most warriors from Catarina are using Pierce Shields like Siegmeyer and Sieglinde are, their ~~piece~~ Pierce of :dung:

Judging by our own history, nothing moves troops in quantity like crazyass religion, so Thorolund would have that advantage over all of the above. And the Thorolund guys don't lack for quality either, with their WoG spam.

I took a vacation to Carim once, most of them are alright people not much to say about them though. They really keep to themselves quite a bit, even more than the average hollow down in the ruins.

Catarina on the other hand, great place. There is this thing called "Drunk Sunday" imagine stocks upon stocks of beer, wine, and rum that could last you a lifetime. Now of course that's in their cities, and I never really visited the country around Catarina. Let me just tell you now though, there isn't a more jolly time you could have when your co-oping drunk off of Catarina rum. Seriously, it's great, just imagine a mix between estus flasks, cold beer, and grape all mixed in to were it actually tastes good.

And let's not forget Oolacile. They have Skarekrows. Clear victory. Not that I'm biased. Plus in their heyday they can blind their opponents with cast light (like Gandalf leading the charge at first light).

From the choices above I would say Catarina. Perseverance, patience, good humor and more than a touch of violent tendencies is a good combo. While Tarkus has my vote for strongest individual, he seems to be the exception. His armor description suggests (outright states actually) that he's unparalleled in humans.

Let's not forget Solaire is part of Astoria, or Andre the kick boxer.

I would choose the Berenike Knights. They're huge and immune to criticals. twisted

Hmm, difficult choice. I'd probably go with Catarina over Astora simply because Solaire has the skill of a God, whilst Siegmeyer and Sieglinde are quite capable of bimbling up to Anor Londo, Duke's Archives, down to Lost Izalith and Ash Lake. They do get around they do, and all without lightning spears.

Then again, they do spend a lot of time absorbed in thought...

The Berenike and Balder knights are likely from the same land. The Crestfallen Merchant sells both of their armor sets while being a berenike knight, and the knights of Berenike and Balder are almost always found close together, as if they were comrades on the same mission. The "Knights of Berenike" was probably a name for the elite knights of Balder, a knightly order rather than a country.

Let's not forget that balder and berenike ended becoming overrun by the undead. Hence why their are a lot of their knights in lordran itself. I ithink it would have to come down to a battle between astora ande catarina. Very few is known between them, but we do know that solaire and siegmeyer hail from each their own. So it kind of comes down to a simple question.

Who would win between siegmeyer and solaire?

^ Solaire hurles his infamous lightning bolt at Siegmeyer while Siegmeyer is "absorbed in thought". Solaire runs in for the kill, but Siegmeyer flattens Solaire with his Zweihander. When Solaire gets back up Siegmeyer backstabs Solaire, and Solaire dies.

I would say it goes far beyond that simple question. Heroes aren't necessarily indicative of their nation. While a strong hero can help (particularly with leadership and motivation) the quality of the masses is what would determine a nation's strength. Also, the NPCs we see may not even reflect much in the way of national culture and ability. Solaire and Siegmeyer are both good candidates to be diagnosed with fairly substantial mental health diagnoses. Mental health issues of their kind often lead to dedication that is not normally seen.

So the questions I would look to answer, are:
-What nation/region has evidence of a structured military presence?
-What nation/region appears to place an emphasis on martial strength or conditioning? (the key here is regional culture, not individual or group culture since those might be atypical of the area)
-What area has the strongest technological or similar advancements?
-etc. etc.

To answer you question though, Solaire is a glorified meat shield with very poor battle intelligence. So, uh, not him.

^ I'm not sure about that. I saw Solaire go after an invader without bowing. Although, I never saw Siegmeyer fight. He's always "absorbed in thought." I like to think he's reveiwing battle strategies, but his snoring suggest something else.
