It has a funky steam punk/feudal warlord feel to it. The Anklet or the Brigand Trousers add more style to it. Add in the Gargoyle Tail Axe and Demon's Spear, you get a walking badass meter.

Surprisingly, the Eastern Helm works great with the Channeler's top and leggings with the Smough's gauntlets.

the glove are a nice way to get a couple extra poise to hit a breakpoint for only 1.5

A few weeks back i was building my first pvp character based on shiva using all his equipment.
Turned out it was not very effective for a newby,could have been a different story at higher sl but i deleted him.
The one thing i did like about it is that the full armour set plus wolf ring =76 poise but like others have said the defences seemed weak.

i actually love the way it looks but it's pretty bad in terms of defense, the chest piece is good but its a llittle heavy when compared to others like knight armor. i would use it more but moss of my builds are str builds and i need to use the lightest armor to either fast or med roll.

i wear the eastern armor with any build that uses curved swords. it looks awesome and it's a pretty good set of armor to use early if you haven't upgraded anything else yet.
i've also found the iron round shield to be very useful for PVE as well. besides being the best looking shield in the game, it's a medium shield with the deflection of a greatshield. it makes the Capra and Taurus demons laughably easy to melee.

I like the Eastern Head for making a gladiator cosplay while going bareback using a shotel and Target Shield.

I've never really used the Eastern Set myself but I have seen others use it and I guess it works okay. It's just... I've actually never lost to anyone in an Eastern Set before. I'm not entirely sure what to think of it yet. The only Easterners that have ever given me trouble are the ones doing a FULL Shiva cosplay, meaning the use of the Murakumo and the shield. I personally would recommend getting used to the Murakumo if your gonna use the Eastern Set.
