What do you guys/gals like to do in your spare time?

As for me, I
play what I like to call casual competitive MTG with friends. We play
with competitive decks but in a casual environment. Mostly modern
lately. We don't go to PTQ's or anything like that.

I am also an
avid yoyoer. I've only been to competitions at the state level thus far,
but I just started competing last year. My first regional competition
is coming up in June I think. Check out this video I made a few months

Not really though. Even though I compete, I mostly do it for fun. Competitions are more like social events than an actual competition. It's all about meeting people and having fun. Going on stage for 2-3 minutes is just something to do while you're there. The prizes aren't really enough to justify driving for 6-8 hours anyways.

It's great to do when I'm bored, and it's a good stress reliever when I'm having a bad day. Keeps me focused on something other than whats going on.

I just recently picked up a premade deck pack of MTG after years of not playing, it's still just as fun and the new stuff doesn't seem overwhelming or terribly OP like Yu-Gi-Oh. I might look around for an old Mirrodin premade deck just to get a whiff of nostalgia.

Off of the console, I am usually doing homework. But I surf and paddle board out in San Diego. So if you see a whitish man out surfing/paddling that loves dark souls, you see me happy

Homework and working out when I can is what do most often for hobbies. Running is something I do love, if a rarity. The rarest thing I do for a hobby is...um...well practice kendo and bushido, though I usually practice alone. That's not strange is it?

The best that I can say is working out, I normally go for a half-hour jog in the mornings but that is really it.

I used to yo-yo, though I was no where as good as you. Haven't had a really good yo-yo to yo-yo with in years, might have to get back into that at some point. Lately been practicing guitar a bit and drawing. Those two are probably my biggest two hobbies right now. I also try to work out from time to time.

Bought myself a motorcycle again, sold my first one 12 years ago because I was riding like a madman, settled down a bit, got a son, grew up some and decided to buy one again.
Great fun but the speeding tickets cost more now then they did 12 years ago...

Things do change a bit, at least it did for me in the beginning.
The first couple of years as a father wasn't that great tbh, a lot of diapers, crying at night etc but as soon as he started to talk things changed for the better.

He is 9 years old now and plays Dark Souls sometimes with me, probably not the best game for a kid his age but he finds Mario Kart boring...

One time I was duelling with a friend I met here in the moonpit and had to go take a leak, just dropped the RSS so I figured I had some time to do my business.
When I got back he was summoned and fighting, he did lose, but after the fight my friend told me to stop BS fishing, he noticed a change in playstyle...

I then explained to him that when fighting a friend it's probably not a great idea to go for back stabs constantly.

Probably not the best story to put on the internet but I consider myself among friends here...

I've taken some others, like kendo and learning languages, but I had to stop both because I was unemployed for a long time. Now, when I finally got a job, although not very decent, I'm either playing games, or I'm with my lady. Since I'm severely bored in my work, I usually kill time by spamming here, or watching anime, reading manga and books and I've recently started watching Korean dramas.

So far the first three years of fatherhood have been awesome. The only current issue (like the last three years) is my daughter HATES to sleep. She will literally hold her eyelids open with her fingers if you let her.

Back on topic.....I own guitars. I used to play them. Self taught myself multiple martial arts styles from age twelve on. Took Judo in college with one hell of a teacher (oh the stories I could tell). I still draw on occasion. There's some of my stuff floating around some of the older event threads. I used to do a few different sculpture mediums (clay, whittling, and twist ties....yes the ones from bread bags and such).
