Hey bud! I
to my fellow caster.
These are things I've found to be successful with casters/mages.
- Pursuers is a little overrated for me (I know you dont have em attuned). They are slow and the investment is too large imo. They can be used for set ups, but HCSM does the same thing.
- WoG is kinda unecessary for me. Without being dedicated to faith, the power is subpar, and only getting 6 casts with 2 attuned is not worth it imo. I like Force better. It sets up combos nicely and is cheap...really cheap, and you get 21.
- Dark Bead is great for its power, poise/stamina break, and it spreads with distance helping you set the pace.
- Black Flame is essential for any caster able to use pyro.
- Power Within is highly effective for any glass cannon.
- Get at least 6 poise to avoid dagger stunlocks.
- Incorporating the DWGR is not necessary, but very effective.
- When making a glass cannon, variety is not needed. You really only need two or three "go to moves" to execute high damage once stat enhancements are in effect.
- Strong Magic Shield is grossly underrated for any mage imo.
I'm sorry man, but i dont glass cannon much. I usually use Logan's Catalyst in order to compensate for dodgers (no way to regenerate mana).
I think the best glass cannon incorporates backstabs. You're on the right track, imo. The Pursuers --> CSS combo is still effective, but unoriginal and lazy imo.
I think the dominant glass cannons will be using some sort of casting "set up", that deals decent damage and ensures a OHKO backstab if damage is delt from "set up".
Power Within lasts plenty long for a glass cannon. You're not looking for a "fight", you're looking to destroy.
PS-Thanks for posting in my "alter ego" thread lol. Feel free to share anything you find useful, or links that have helped you. I plan on revamping the op, so your knowledable help would be appreciated. And dont pay any attention to the old man speaking in
blue. He's crazy...maybe its because of the hat? lol
I'll try and make some ideas at mugenmonkey later, i gtg.
