Start with any class. However if you want to go quicker, pick a Pyromancer. The fireballs will help out. Pick whatever gift you want, it does not matter. I picked the Tiny being's Ring to test out the quality of it, which seems to just add +30 health, and not 5%. However, let us continue. Their will be some backtracking, but you will be able to infect the rest of the areas other than the catacombs with ease.
First off, exit the asylum. Spend your first souls on your level. After you do your SL buisness, pick up the Humanity and the 6 Firebombs in the firelink shrine. The rest is unecessary, unless you want a better weapon, in which case just get from the graveyard, as all three weapons are half-decent. A weapon is not a primary necessity for this. Once you have obtain the firebombs and the one humanity, do not use them. Head towards the primary starting area, which is Undead Burg. don't even bother linking the first bonfire their. Just head to the merchant. With the souls you have collected, buy a good amount of firebombs. trust me, you will need it. Then, buy a few arrows of your liking. You will need them also. Don't bother with a Bow. Kill the Crystal Lizard, but killing the Bull Demon is not necessary. You can use the bonfire in Undead Burg now if you are afraid of death and backtracking. Once you recieve the twinkling titanites and the spares, Head back to Firelink Shrine once done with a merchant.
head down to New Londo (no need for master key, so don't worry). Make sure you have used all the humanity in your inventory, since it will help search for weapons. Once down their, grab the 2 transent curses in the jar, and head across the 2 wooden bridges. activate the curse, and head out.Do not use a firebomb on one ghost, unless their is just one. Make sure they are bunched up together. Throw the firebomb once to catch them both, than kill them with a two handed weapon. A spear would not be the best choice, but it can serve well. Once done, pick up the other 2 transet curses that are in another jar, and head towards the Firekeeper Soul. Again, use the firebombs wisely. As a Pyromancer, the fireballs can help easily with the cause an an extra 8 stronger firebombs. Collect the Firekeeper Souls once cleared.
Once done, head up the staircase. Two ghosts CAN great you, and it is best to kill both of them. Once done, head across the stone bridge. Only two ghosts will attack you first, but you can't attack it. Attract them, but do not head on. use rolls and shields, and draw them to the bridge. Once done, use firebombs or 2H Swings to kill them. a kick and an attack adds extra damage, remember that. Once you killed those two ghosts. Head to the room, where a ghost just stands their. Once you see ghosts raise from the ground, run back to the bridge. One ghost will certainly be in your way, but you can whack it away, or move around it. Again, use your bridge to your advantage. They will always retreat once they reach the halfpoint of it, remember that. Once dead, collect their transent curses. Remember to pick up all inventory from the ghosts, as a Ghost Blade or Jagged Ghost Blade might drop, and at low levels is great for PvE. With such a low level, requirements are a joke, and damage is stellar. If not, a Club will be a better choice to defeat the next trial, which is obvious if you have become a Gravelord Before.
Go threw the fog gate once you kill the ghost that rises beside it. Kick the ladder down, In case you die at the next part. It will be tricky. Do not bother with the ghosts, run across the platform to the second staircase that leads down. The ghosts won't follow. Once done, head to the door and back out. Two ghosts will follow from the structure. The ghosts from the bell roof will leave you alone. Kill them with firebombs easily. Once dead SPRINT, and i mean SPRINT into the structure, down the staircase, and to where the staircases head to where the lever is. Go up a few staircases, until you have enough room to see about 7-8 ghosts coming after you. Remember to back off and use the Firebombs wisely. If you have a shield, have it up when not throwing, and roll whenever possible to dodge. Once all 7-8 ghosts are killed by the firebombs, head to where the lever is. Instead, go up the spiral case and pick up the Composite Bow. It will be necessary for later. If you picked up a Jagged Ghost Weapon along the way, the next part of the fast Gravelord keep will be easy, since the damage is fantastic. If not yet, kill the banshee ghosts and the few ghosts that protect her. Take all inventory found. Killing the sealer is not necessary, so be relieved if you do not want your story to be broken. Otherwise, go for it. You might die. Pick up the green titanite if you want a fire weapon.
Once you have picked up a (jagged) ghost blade and the Composite Bow, use the proud Knights soul and the souls you got from the ghosts to + 2 the weapon for better efficiency. If you gut a Titanite Shard from undead burg, you can upgrade your bow as well. Now the next thing is important. Once you have your equipment, head to the Catacombs. Soul Level up if you have spares. Aim for the wielding of the Composite Bow, as the next few parts will be necessary. The four skeletons leading to the skeletons is easy. When you reach the black pit with the two skeletons (as the third will probably fall to his death as soon as you enter), use the wisps to knock em down, or kick it off the ledge for permanent death. Once done, kill the skeleton by the staircase. Do not disturb the two skeletons in the same room as the skeleton you just killed by the ladder, just wisp yourself threw the door to the entrance to the Locked Door. Two Skeletons will arise. Kill them, and run to the bonfire. A necromancer will greet you, and you shall greet him with your ghost blade. Remember, two handing it is better than one handing it. Roll if necessary, the blade can also block as well. Once dead, the Skeletons you knocked down (the three) will enter. Kill them as well, and they will permanently die. Unlock the door, and sit at the bonfire. You will probably die by this.
Head to the open catacombs after killing the two skeletons by the bonfire again. Before interacting with the skeleton infront of you, pull out your bow. Aim for the Necromancer for headshots. Make sure not to miss, as arrows are of highest value. Kill him, and the skeletons ahead will be a smooth sail. Once dead, go threw the skeletons with ease. Remember to not die. Now here is the tricky part. When you reach towards the first spiked bridge, a necromancers and two skeletons on the other side are their. You have two options. One, kill the Necromancer with even less damage than the first one you snipe, and kill him with the Composite Bow. Or Two, SPRINT to the lever to the bridge. The skeletons that spawn won't notice you, as you will pass them with speed. However the two that guard the lever will. Just roll and make sure to block ONLY when necessary. Head to the lever and activate it. Dodge the skeletons, and sprint again. Roll a good chunk and head to the bridge. Run TOWARDS the Necromancer and the two skeletons. Once you almost reach the entrance to the second are, jump off the bridge, to you right, to where the second bonfire lays. Skeletons may follow. Make sure you kill them, as one or two may follow you, and reach towards the second bonfire. You may notice that the bridge also turns at this time. Don't worry about it, head to the Bonfire first.
Once done, the enemies will be set in place once again. Good. Go to the lever which moves the second jagged bridge. Patches is their. Talk to him and answer No. Once done, go across the Bridge a good amount until you see the Broken Staircase to your right. Beside it to the left of the staircase is a tiny cliff. Roll to it. Patches will make the bridge spine back again (an attempt to kill you. I just saved your hide from humiliation). Roll down until you see where a Necromancer and a Lever are. Kill the Necromancer, and then kill the one or two skeletons that are by the staircase in front of you (you will know what I mean. Activate the lever. GO up the staircases and kill the skeletons. They will permanently die, so be wary of sanctuary of sorts. Go up till you see the Necromancer you spared. Killed him, and only one necromancer will remain. To the left, after you kill the Necromancer and the skeletons beside him, their is a hole in the wall. Enter it, and go down a pit where one of the two grave indents are (you will know when you see it). you will fall down, and two lizards are their. Kill at least one of them. But be warned to roll, as almost all of the statues (with the exception of possibly one) shoot spikes out. Kill at least one. It will be necessary for later. You will land by the Lever that turns the first bridge once you leave that area. Go back to the first bridge, and jump down to where the second on is as before.
Talk to patches, say yes, and he will give you humanity. Good. Use that humanity at the second bonfire for Human Form if not done before, or you had lost it (you would not need human form beforehand, so this way no loss is made). Return the second bridge. Roll back to where the ledge is beside the broken staircase is. Don't jump down to where the lever is. Turn right where the Great Scythe is. Go down another indent that is in a good sized room. You will fall. Once recovered, turn around to where a ledge is that points upwards. turn right and look down. You will see a summon sign down bellow. Ignore the Wisps, just jump down. Activate the Summon Sign, and the greatest hero will help you with this next annoying part. This man with holy armor and a Grant will be summoned. On the cliff you are on, their are two smaller cliffs by it. One holding a wheeled skeleton, another a monk suit. You can either jump kill the skeleton wheel, or go and collect the monk suit. It does not matter. Once down, Leeroy will be stoping the wheel skeletons with his grant, and distract them. All skeleton wheels will probably come, so keep your shield up, and kill the Wheels only when they have stopped rolling. Don't waste HP. Later on, he will have killed all but possibly one skeleton wheel, which can easily be taken down by yourself. Do not head to the Fog Gate to Pinwheel. head back.
Kill the Black Knight that hopes down from the ledge first. That is a priority. You cand rag it to leeroy, as leeroy will be camping by the fog gate, in which case you will beat it with a Grant. Don't worry about his health, he can heal himself just fine. Once the Black Knight is killed, go to the Necromancer with the two archers, and kill them. Then head back to Leeroy. get your + 2 ghost weapon, and head to Pinwheel. If you have fought pinwheel before, this should be an easy fight. Dodge his fires, and kill all of his replicas first before him. Leeroy will help. Once killed, the Rite of Kindle will be given. For a gravelord Servant, this is your KEY TOOL TO SURVIVAL. Rememebr that. Once done, head back. Use the Homebone if have it. When done so, head back to where the Titanite Demon is, where the Gravelord Servant Entrance is (the sarcophagus). Now enter the thing. After a few seconds, you will be invited to where Nito sleeps. Enter the Covenant. Now here is a key factor to think of. When you head back, you have both the Ghost Blade and the Gravelord Sword. Both useful weapons. When you head back, kill the titanite demon. Once done, collect the titanite from him, and the three eyes. Those eyes are key. Now if you know how to find the skeleton smith, you can do so as well. But the rest is all done for you.
Congrats, you have reached a Gravelord without delay. Congrats! You could have headed to the Catacombs full out like I have before, although death is certain, as patience will not let you win in their without the proper tools. You also did it without a Divine Weapon, congrats on that as well. Welcome to the club. I hope this guide helps all those who seek easy access to the Covenant.
I Hope it helps you, as it has helped me before
