Huh. I've known of a couple ways to do unlocked side/backrolls before, but not this. Might be useful for a couple things.

Not having to pivot would speed roll bsing, if done reflexively. Should make it easier to tag the really fast attacks (like db, 2h scimtar) with less prediction, albiet more skill is necessary

The time needed to input this might make the increased recovery time not all that useful.

There is at least one player that I know of who can perform it as easily as rolling, but i agree and wouldn't suggest using it in a serious fight unless you mastered it.

? i though that's how you roll bs'ed. i never really saw any vids of it but this is how i've always done it. isnt it the same as the other roll bs?

This is a backwards roll with forwards momentum. Most people roll BS by rolling just past there opponent then turning around. This gets rid of the turning before the BS.

oh, well that's what i've always done when i did, like i ssaid i never reay noticed and how peoplle did it so when i first tried to do it that's excatly what i did.

Nice find, definitely comes in handy for skilled players.

I see lock off stabs and lock off roll stabs being more practical.

I noticed the video captions mentioned Ravioli step having nothing on this, except that it takes less frames to ravioli, sure the timing is tighter but really if you can ravioli well this wouldn't add anything to your repitiore

Looks good. But, it will be harder to do to roll BS since you have to do it at an angle (maybe you have to press the joystick the opposite angle to keep it at 180 degrees) to land behind them.

I currently can't embed videos since I am on my phone, but the player I mentioned does it repeatedly in this video with great effect:

He uses dead angle, ravioli step, and many other pro moves.
