Best Dex weapon on DkS?

Is Gold Tracer the best dex weapon in Dks? It has heavy bleed damage, A grade scaling in Dex, and a versatile move set, and crazy poise break for how fast it is. does anything actually beat it?

As a general rule for all video games, whenever you have something that comes from paying extra(in this case weapons from the DLC) they're generally going to be better than the things you don't pay extra for. So Gold and Silver tracers are the best dex weapons for what they do(silver tracer for highest backstab/riposte damage in the game). Other great dex weapons are:

The greatscythe for whatever reason there is.

Murakumo(really strong and always stunlocks)

Pharis Bow(high damage for a bow).

If you want to go with hybrid weapons then pick up a spear

A greatscythe can just kite it with 3x the reach, has higher damage per hit, stunlocks, dead angles like mad, bleeds and can be buffed.

In short, the gold tracer doesn't have squat on the greatscythe. Pure speed counts for nothing if it can't get close enough to use it.

I find it funny that during damage tests with the Chaos Blade, he didn't have 10 humanity.

On topic...the best weapon is the one you are most comfortable using. I suggest testing. I say Chaos Blade because I like using it, even though its moveset is meh. Great Scythe is an excellent choice as well. Along with Gold Tracer, Falchion, BSS, the list goes on....every weapon has its advantages and disadvantages.

The best weapon is determined by a comprehensive weighing of those advantages and disadvantages, preference has no bearing. He didn't ask "best dex weapon for you"

The best weapon changes with the situation for sure, but again, thats part of the advantages/ disadvantages.

Gold tracer has a higher bleed build up...is less clumsy....quicker recovery from attacks...left hand combo... Come on at least be fair. I don't understand all this hype over the great scythe

And.... I love the BSS..

Though I admit the damage it does it complete paltry, though it's great with a buff on it.

Im with you on this one, I was never a fan of scythes in Dark Souls, they are just so clumsy! Id rather have something fast like the Gold Tracer. Now, Dex weapons are mostly specialised, ones are good for parries and backstabs and others for sheer DPS, so i cant for certain say wich one is the best, just go with whatever suits your playstyle.

There is no best Dex Weapon.

Oh I'm only mediocre with the greatscythe, don't get me wrong, Its just to easy to kite the tracer, even with weapons with only midling length like the uchi or really slow weapons like the DGM.

Simple. STR > DEX

The best weapon to buff is a dagger: best DPS of any weapon in the game.
The best weapon for pure DPS is the gold tracer: Because it has extremely high poise break and bleeding ability while also doing respectable damage
The best weapon for survivability is the Winged Spear: Scales with dex and it's a spear so of course it improves your survivability by the way of being annoying as ***.
The best weapon for moveset variety is a katana: I don't want to even talk about why I say that.
The best weapon for actually being a dex build while using strength weapon is the Flamberge: Because it's actually a curved sword in disguise while being incredibly light and having a versatile moveset.
The best weapon for looking like a complete tool and follower of the crowd is the Great Scythe, because everyone and their mother is using it because Epic said it's best: Because for all his knoledge he knows nothing about how to judge a weapon.

I hate that tendancy, but its ultimately irrelevant because good halberd users are few and far between and they tend to be quickly and easily distinguishable from the mediocre users (who tend to die very quickly.) On top of that, effective is effective regardless of appearance

Tendancy or not, it is currently true. the current flavor of the month weapon is the Great Scythe. I currently cringe whenever I see it. (and then I smile in surprise when the person knows how to use it)

I've been using it since day 1, and seen it in better hands than mine, and its always been far more terrifying than the tracer ever was (though its possible I've just not met a tracer user worth a damn.)

I've never called it the best, but its always been among them, and I've yet to be impressed by the tracer.

That's my first time =EVER= using a curved greatsword that isn't the shotel, so it was a learn as you go thing. I got quite good with it over those two hours.

This might not be the answer you're looking for, but here goes anyway. The best Dex weapon is the player. Learning how to PvP well will win you more fights than any weapon.

^ reim speaks the truth. A weapon is only as good as its user. I like the curved sword move set and just trying to figure out how to use that in pvp has improved my game so much. Pick a weapon and learn its move set. Find out where it fits and where it does not. Then figure out what fits where that chosen weapon fails. Do that and you have got yourself a style. A style is harder to beat than just a weapon.

I'm with you on this. Great scythe is alright, but if you miss a hit, you're left wide open. I have a build that uses it and it's fun and this, but the tracers are what i consider the best as well.
