My post to rep ratio is terrible! Over 1200 posts, and only 30 rep! Sometimes, I wonder how all these people with 200+ rep actually got that. I do try to help, so I thought I would have had a bit more by the time I reached over 1000. But it's not that bad. I got 7 upvotes yesterday.

Keep in mind that a good portion of your posts are in Off-Topic, where rep has no effect. I'd say your on-topic post to rep ratio is okay.

Good point. And also, you mentioned your points are designed to eclipse your posts. It seems all that time talking about cats in Off-Topic yesterday made your posts surpass your points.

You're in Off-Topic a lot, dude.
Now stop sweating it so much.

Off-Topic is the reason I'm on here for so long in the day. There's always a load of random and fun things to talk about. I remember the days when my points were good. But, alas, Off-Topic has claimed me. I squat there all day.

I said that my posts were destined to eclipse my points. You helped me with that yesterday, if anything I'm grateful for it. The only thing left on the to-do list is to become a brony.

Whoops, wrong way around. It's good to know I've been of some help. I found our cat conversation a ton of fun.
Speaking of becoming a brony, would you like a little push towards that?

I just have a question, why do you care about your rep so much? I mean, in the end does it really matter?

I don't really mind too much. But I just feel it's a bit small in comparison to other's. And it does matter. Having a high postive rep can give off a good first impressions, and first impressions tend to stick.

There are also a decent amount of people who will look negitively upon you for having so much rep, assuming you are an *** kisser or other such thing. It's a double edged sword.

That's a good point. But have you ever been called an *** kisser? You have over 400 rep.

Keep in mind renegade, many of the people with really high rep got a good chunk of it in just a few especially helpful posts, that got 20+ up reps each.

Then that advice must have been really helpful.

The brony thing will most likely happen on its own. At the beginning of this month, I just said that I had a feeling I'd be one by the end of the month.

Well, be warned, when you become one, we have quite the wait ahead of us until Season 4.

I would suggest making a thread with tons of resources for people to use Renegade.
I would suggest it, except I already got the corner on that market dawg!
And yes people have.

Someone mentioned highest post to rep ratio. I have a feeling it'd be Oroboro, considering he has more rep than posts.

I'm going to be tooting my own horn. I hate doing it, but if you are curious I'll explain.
Essentially, I've helped out a good amount around the forum. I'm not a coder so I can't do literal work, but I talk with people a lot. I've stopped fights, I generally answered questions with very in depth information while also providing links. I made people feel good and tried to keep our civil and friendly atmosphere. I also made a thread full of resources, I helped set up a decent amount of the covenants and get them populated before they started running without any effort on my part. When it came to PvP I was sort of a master of tactics and would have ideas for how to defeat every situation, this is most easily seen in the original For the Glory of Alvina Thread. I also communicated with the admins and would enforce the rules with only reason while giving feedback when I could.
I also made a lot of jokes that tickled the fancy of people.
Most of my rep actually comes from jokes, but I don't mind that since I think it balances out in comparison with what I've done.
I also am not as active as I used to be, but maybe when DkS2 comes out I'll get back to that level.
Now entering back into humble mode.

I don't think I've said anything special enough to be repped, but I have, so that's neat I guess.

In general, if you want reputation just be friendly and helpful, and perhaps a bit funny. Generally just being a good person.
I think you should do that without an incentive though, and already you do probably.

I've noticed people with say 10-150 rep, there's almost no difference considereing being funny, helpful, articulate, etc.
However, a lot of people with say 200+ are very knowledable, resourceful, and usually very polite or at least respectful.
I think the biggest difference is people with say 200 postsand a -20 to 2 rep. They always seem like smarta$$es are usually very condescending and just overall jerky....not always the case though.
It just seems like if someone is at a negative rep count, more times than not they seem to deserve it. However, I'm also aware of the rep trolls lurking here and there.
I hate to admit it, but I look at that when someone makes a thread asking a question. Especially if it requires an indepth answer requiriing me to spend a lot of time on it.

I actually urge people to treat everyone equally. I know the reputation can give an impression, but even if a person has a negative rep they may turn around and act better. Just as a person with high rep may have a bad episode, I've had a nervous breakdown while on the forum before and during that time people shouldn't have paid me any mind with the **** I was posting.
It gives for a nice impression I feel, but we should still just view everyone based on their actions.
