Demon Souls buff equivalent?

Hi all,

I know its a pretty noob question, but bare with me, Ive only played this game for a few weeks. I saw a video the other day on youtube out of Demon Souls and saw a player bring his weapon up, wave his hand over it, and the weapon became all lit up, enchanted sort of. Can't find the video now, but I was wondering if any of you knew of anything like that in Dark Souls? If there is one thing that is a little underwhelming in Dark Souls as far as I am concerned, is the weaponry enchantments (only in terms of visual effects).

lit up? only one i used in demons souls was cursed weapon, don't remember the visual effect though

as for dark souls, there are...8 (?) temporary enchanting effects i believe
sorcery: magic weapon, greater magic weapon, crystal magic weapon
miracles: sunlight blade, darkmoon blade
items: gold(lightning)/charcoal(fire)/rotten(poison, -3hps maybe?) resins

i don't know the coefficients though

its reminding me of curse weapon, hmm...
i think the closest one in dark souls for looks would probably be either of the magic weapon enchants, except instead of purple, they are blue

the rest have other effects like electricity, smoke, fire, etc
