Maxing out a character Empty Maxing out a character

Post by Dragon Hat Thu Apr 04, 2013 4:25 pm

My 5th character is currently on SL185 in NG++++. I want to max out his soul level, but I'm not getting experience fast enough. The quickest ways I've found so far is to use the Silver Serpent Ring and the Symbol of Avarice while powering through all the bosses in the game and using the Red Soap Stone to summon a friend and keep killing him (I've been getting ~140k souls per kill in this manner). But I need to get a lot more a lot faster. Any advice? The internet hasn't given me much insight, all the grinding and soul farming posts I find are not nearly efficient enough. Thanks!

Or, if you are on Xbox, employ the HnK Soul Service.

Do those avoid the level filter?

He wouldn't get much out of me, I like staying in the lower levels. I was in the Demon's Ruins on NG+ before I got a build above level 100.

Yes, they do, surprisingly. That's how the HnK Soul Service exists. If you put down your RSS, the higher level can summon you, regardless of level.

Also, having me manipulate people's words can help sometimes. silly

    You learn something new everyday.

Sometimes it's just not as important as others, like lemmings not actually being suicidal like that one documentary portrayed them as.

I recall seeing that one documentary, but I never quite remembered the reason why they are actually not suicidal.

I'm on the PS3. My PSN is Nature777. I'd love to kill your SL619 character Maneater! Thanks!

I'll also go to the forest and host there. That's a great idea! Thanks!!

This should go without saying but it wont work well if you die, so you know... try not to do that.

    Hahaha absolutely!

My build is solid, and I have two friends who I usually play with who I can summon to balance out my weaknesses. My guy is a tank. My vitality, endurance, and strength are through the roof. I'm using a Giants Armor +5 set, Havel's Shield +5, and a Great Demon's Axe +15 that I use charcoal/gold pine resin on. Double handed R2 power strikes do about 700-1000 damage a hit.

But when I can't get close, my buddies use sorceries and miracles to remedy that. I've lost plenty of PvP battles, but none when I've had my two buddies with me.

Yeah I suppose that's a little one sided! I've had some fun battles in the forest, 3v2+NPCs.

You know I wuz just bustin on ya, right? I've had my *** kicked along with the other 2 that we're with me in a 3 v1 fight many times. numbers don't insure wins.

In fact last night, Anor Londo, 3 of us get invaded just after getting into AL, he comes up the first set of stairs. I head for him/her, who is kneeling gonna Black crystal out ( I think), I whack him (interrupting whatever he was doing). He proceeded to kick my butt, and before I was sent back I saw him kick the phantoms butt, then the host. Musta Made him mad? Made me laff.

The people that made that documentry purposely killed lemmings to get the footage.

    On Topic:

Once I hosted an event, and I was able to level up about 20 times after it was done. I went from about 100 to 120.

PvP is the best way to farm souls in my experience. If you're playing offline, just rush through bosses. Better than farming. And if your mind is set on farming, I prefer to kill the giants before the Ornstein & Smough bossfight fog gate for souls. They drop 9k each in NG+.
