You get to keep everything (including souls and soft humanities) when you go to NG+ with the exception of certain key items. Armor definitely is not a key item, so you always keep that.
Key items are things like the Orange Charred Ring (so you can't skip Ceaseless), embers and certain keys.

You keep everything you have when going to NG+, and anything you don't buy (E.g if you don't buy the Helmet) will be available to purchase in NG+. Although you will need to unlock the merchant again.

The only things you can't keep when going into new game are Arty's ring, orange chared ring, and everything in the key section of your inventory except the BB and master key.

I think you also lose the BB, but keep the items inside, you won't be able to access them until you buy it again though
