by Domhnall Wed Feb 29, 2012 8:31 pmAnyone else use the Black Knight Halberd? I've been using it for PvE on a few of my Str. chars. The +5 upgraded version wrecks every single boss I've come across. It makes the Four Kings look like the Four Queens. I <3 this thing. At a higher SL it can probably be outclassed, but if you are trying to keep a char around level 35 or so, this thing is perfect for destroying the whole game. Throw in a few pieces of Tarkus' armor from Anor Londo, and you are good to go. Only problem is that it only drops from the few Halberd Knights in the game...pretty sure one is in Asylum, and the other in Darkroot Basin.

no not in the asylum the other one is in the tog, but yeah its pretty good but it has a slow move set which is the downside to it.

Yeah...it can be pretty bad for PvP, because it's slow and easy to parry. But if you whip it out and surprise them fast enough, a 3 hit combo does like 1500 damage at +5

I use it from time to time, it's great for PvE, and in NG+ works great too, but I doubt it would work in NG++.

There's also the last BK before Gwyn in the Kiln. Drops Blue Chunks. He's a Halberd user.
I used it for a while making a build I was planning on using the BKGA with (was planning on making a BKGA Dragon... changed my mind pretty quickly). I got it off the Darkroot BK at the beginning of the playthrough, so I just used it until I got the BKGA, which is at the end of the playthrough. It was fun, decent PvE weapon. But once I got the BKGA, it just made the halberd obsolete... I didn't use it much in PvP though. Its moveset isn't the greatest for that, and by then I already had the BKGA.

I've used it a few times in PvP as the wide swipe and jump moves are killer if used in surprise; yes not as damaging as the BKGA. I used it for some killer back stabs in co-op when backs were exposed. It doesn't hurt poise as much as the other BK weapons so yea not a stun locker, just damage and range.
