Something to consider bud, maybe adjust some of your rules just for the very difficult bosses, like Capra and O&S. This way it doesn't take 50 tries to kill them, (if you seem to die alot that is).

Re: Is this a good challenge?
I spent 2 hours on youtube yesterday watching walkthru's. Every single person went naked as they did speed runs through the asylum. watching how much hp they were losing from weak mobs, imo, you guys should maybe limit healing to 1 or 2. Or at least be allowed to heal at boss fog so you can go in full health. Don't forget O&S, two bosses you have to evade at same time. You don't want to enter a boss fight with 30 hp on your counter, ring or not. Capra as I said before gonna be nasty, if you have very low hp and you not fast enough, you could get pinned and dead right off the bat.

Re: Is this a good challenge?
Thought about this while on a smoke break. YES your challenge got me thinking lol.
When you get to either Demon ruins or izalith, you gonna be stopped there. Mainly because of no healing that lava gonna kill you, (this is before you get orange ring).
Here's a suggestion to try;
Start your toon using the rules you posted, play offline so you don't get invaded. Do undead berg and parish to get a feel on how the game will play out. If that seems fine, do either Capra or blight town, (going back way of course). See how challenging that is and adjust your rules to what you think works. I know you told me no phantoms, does that include npc's? It may not be impossible, but like I said before, it may take a month to get to end game.
I also agree with vagetta, 4 kings is gonna be nasty with your weapon choice. I usually have a +5 divine halberd and that even sucked lol. But then again my builds are always crap

Re: Is this a good challenge?
First off, don't smoke, it's bad for you. Secondly, I do have to agree with you, O&S and Capra Will be quite tough, but during all of last night, I came up with strategies against them that I could use to raise my survival expectancy up with them. I might use the boss fog idea in case it will be needed. I am not going to use npc phantoms as well as player phantoms. I am loving your ideas. I was thinking that when/IF I can beat the run, the rules will change and you may use different weapons and armor...only if the poise/damage is equal to or lower. The rule of no shield would still apply though. And finally, don't smoke, it's bad for you.

Re: Is this a good challenge?
In my opinion, the only hard one will be the Four Kings.
Assuming you're letting it go to +5, you have to remember that people already fight Capra with +5 weapons, so doing it will be like any other playthrough. Even without upgrading it, it's still an easy fight.
Ornstien and Smough will be easy because you can easily split them apart with the pillars. It's more a matter of time.
Four Kings will most likely be the only problem.

Re: Is this a good challenge?
I personally pictured Capra and O&S as a mid-sized obstacle. I can exploit the stairs easily for Capra, but for O&S, I am going to get Ornstein's souls (every time.) It seems like Ornstein as a time of "recoil" after an attack that will give me a few precious moments to hit Smough a couple times and repeat. The Four Kings are actually the monolith in my way. The power of that boss is incredible. I can't wait to start this run.

Re: Is this a good challenge?
I'd go with Super Smough on this one.
Although I consider Ornstien much easier, Super Smough's attacks are extremely easy to read. At this level with this equipment, you're better off killing Ornstien first.

Re: Is this a good challenge?
I find Ornstein super easy when he's giant, Smough is also easy
The only problem of this boss is the annoying lock on gimmick and the fact that you are being attacked 2 times at once

You do have a point there. I will start this run in three hours. (My left arm is working again.)

Good luck, I'll probably try this later.
Are you allowing +5 or are you staying unupgraded?

Re: Is this a good challenge?
Unupgraded until a wall, then +5, nothing beyond that milestone. It would be nice to have others try the challenge, personally, I am shaking from excitement, one of the reasons I need to wait three hours is that my arm is still a little sluggish and doesn't respond at the speed I prefer.

I've done some pretty insane challenges, but this one might top them. I'll definitely give it a go soon.

My most insane challenge: No upgrade, no bonfire, no level run
Seriously don't try
I quit after Ornstein and Smough

What class are you starting with? I would like to repeat. No bows, firebombs, dung pies, spells, or any kind of ranged combat is allowed. Even magic weapons or combustion is not allowed.

Can we use Prism stones?
I'm not really sure since prisms are underrated weapons that dish out good damage

Re: Is this a good challenge?
Well. I am starting as a warrior for the balanced stats and decent starting gear. My friend is becoming a bandit for the ax. If you are going for the Knight, the long sword does more damage. Also, if you don't plan on fat rolling, part of your armor might need to leave. I honestly love the long sword, it is my second favorite straight sword, right behind the Dark Sword.

Re: Is this a good challenge?
I'm choosing the Broadsword over the Longsword for the higher stamina damage and the better moveset, the stab takes too much stamina to be viable in this challenge. Plus, the 2H Longsword has the same moveset as the Broadsword.

Re: Is this a good challenge?
RenegadeCop, I am watching you...back on topic now, for rings, only the red tearstone ring is allowed. Prism stones will not be used, only your starting weapon. Soris, I really appreciate it.
Edit: Oh, I see, thank you for the insight about the Broadsword.
