I can see that, but then wouldn't that be true of any greatsword that had a decent moveset? I mean take a quality build claymore at 40/40 and +15 the claymore does 524. It has very effective stunlocking combos like the running 2HR1 into 2HR2 followed by a standard 2HR1, but I wouldn't really call it overpowered or that it overshadows other strats.
Also I honestly feel that the pure magic damage doesn't really matter that much, considering that a Moonlight Greatsword +5 at 40 int does 472 which is 40-55 less AR than any other greatsword that does only one type of damage (also excluding the cursed Greatsword of Artorias and the crystal greatsword as well as the flamberge, but that does have a bleed effect.)
I feel that, for the most part, this comes out to roughly the same amount of damage dealt once defences are accounted for (this is also assuming the enemy is not using the crown of dusk.) This becomes less true when the enemy is using heavy armour as heavy armour generally has weaker elemental and magic resistances, but at that point stunlocking isn't as much of an issue
