Washing Pole at 20/20 Empty Washing Pole at 20/20

    Post by Noob-of-Artorias Mon Apr 29, 2013 3:28 pm

Kinda funning around with a Int build centralized around the Washing Pole.

My question is this...I knew the Washing Pole has worse scaling than other Katana's, but is it better to use the Washing Pole +15 at 20/20 or go with the Enchanted Path?

I'm leaning more towards the 20/20 because it would allow me to use a buff on it, but I'm still messing about.

Here's the build if anybody cares.

Another question if anybody wants to answer it is what a good second ring choice would be. The wolf seems to be the go to standard for Mid-Roll builds, but I'm curious if anybody has any better suggestions.

    Hmmm a Washing Pole build....
First of all pros. and cons.

    Pros.
+ Washing Pole has lot of range
    + Good variety of spells
    + Rings are pretty decent

    Cons.
    - Washing Pole has bad damage
    - Armor could be improved

Overall I think you should use Crystal Magic Weapon

First off, love the cosplay look.

    Things I would consider:

-Using the TCC is this instance.

-Depends on your playstyle, but I think the WP coupled with the MLGS might be unnecessary.

-The WP might have low base damage at first, but once you put CMW on it the phantom damage will be ridiculous. You'll constantly be saying to yourself, "Wow, he must be pissed lol".

-I'd consider the MLGS to be better for a mid-roller. The one handed regular swing will be a better backstab deterrent compared to the WP, but so is lock off casting Dark Bead when carefully timed.

All in all looks like a fun build, and again, love the look.

    Thanks for the input.

I LOVE the Eastern Set, it's among my favorite armors in the game, it's a shame that the chest and helm are pretty heavy for their stats.

I've never used a Washing Pole before, but I've faced them and yeah, I've often wondered how in the hell he hit me from so far away.

TCC is a good idea, I usually like Logans because it doens't halve castings, but with 5 slots, I'm sure I can find a combination that works.

leave strength at 20, drop dexterity to 16, drop one point from endurance and raise vitality to 50 … use an enchanted washing pole.

The extra 5 points in Vitality only gives me around 92 extra HP, which in my view isn't worth it.

At 20/20, you're better off with an elemental Washing Pole.
If you want to use +15, I'd say you at least need a 27/40.

As a frequent user of the washing pole, it is in my opinion to use Crystal Magic Weapon. Enchanting it, like the guy above said, can do massive phantom damage. And if the buff runs out just switch to the Moonlight Greatsword and you are fine. Just make sure you vary your attacks. The washing pole is easy to parry, but the heavy attack can slaughter people with the range, since they usually let their guard down when they are further away to get their stamina up, and since you are pretty much carrying around Sephiroth' katana, you can get them then.

The one thing I always HATED about fighting washing pole users was that it was always very hard to get any breathing room if they played aggressively....time to be that guy! =D

If you wanted to you could have both and menu swap when your buff is gone.
