To answer your question though, there might be a nod to the movie or two but there are enough differences where I would say he's not based on that character

Anyways, some moar interesting stuff, Arthur was believed to be another name for a guy called Lucius Artorius Castus, so Artorias could be also a reference to King A, but nothing else fits in.

Yeah I think it's generally accepted that solaire is a reference to king arthur with his chest plate, his general demeanour and also to the black knight as the have the same helmet:
