Curse effect in PvP?

Hey everyone;

I just got invaded by a Darkwraith using the Darkmoon blade buff initially - When I bowed he just started to spamming away at me - 2 hits yielded me instant death. All good and fine; I shouldn't be bowing to invaders.

I met him again the 2nd match - this time he used what appeard to be a greatsword [Artorias one maybe]

I havn't seen this particulair weapon yet and apparently he 2h wielded it - held it in front of him and blew out a yellowish circle - that instantly cursed me completely; Killing me and ending up in debuffing my character with the curse effect. No big deal I've packed some purging stones and all is good - but I'm wondering what happened here though. I wasn't aware that there's a curse-effect into play when it comes to PvP.

Do weapons that are capable of hitting ghosts build up a curse meter?

I really want to find out how to hack those.Only for use against hackers though,it would be the difference between a 20 hit bleed kill and a two or three hit curse.God knows they deserve it.

Yes, PC version with DLC ( obviously ;D )

I've heard of people doing it on Xbox too and seen some videos.No idea how,must be a JTAG thing.They always find another way to grief huh.

Seeing post after post after post about these things makes me very grateful to have a PS3.

Backstab Immunity would be nice - then again it's a matter of skill/experience to avoid getting BS'd. I'll get to that point - sooner rather than later

Oh God, the shenanigans I would employ with backstab immunity....

I would run, stop, run, stop, "moon bow", run, stop....

I actually have a special set up for hackers. Gold hemmed robes, Life hunt Scythe, Blood shield, bloodbite ring, gold tracer, and a lot of humanity and blood red moss. Hate mail from hackers is the most delicious variety. Even better then little kids raging on Call of duty.

I literally either have to have infinite health or DBs and a gold tracer when I go to the forest now.I invaded more hackers than normal gankers today.Even on a normal build,I always get hatemail from hackers.I'm at the point where I make anti-hacker builds and just black crystal out after punching gankers to see if they hurt at all.It would be so much worse if curse hacks were flying around.And is why I won't get this on PC.
