Split damage is strongest damage?

Correct me if I'm wrong.

As far as my understanding about damage goes:
1.) Split damage is weaker than pure damage because it has 2 defenses to bypass
3.) Backstabbing negates most defense.


Does that mean that elemental backstabs would do more than pure-physical backstabs?

Well, it is true for the Chaos Rapier +5. So, maybe...

This is prenerf, where Chaos does marginally more damage. Postnerf, +15 wins for criticals. It's not up for debate.

Yeah, the elemental Mura's damage really sucks compared to a +15.
