millions of insect species do this, that's just the world we live in. At least the ones who target humans don't have the mind altering effects these parasites do.

btw there are fungus that have a similar life cycle to those wasp larvae, they infect ants and then gain nearly complete control of the ants brain basically making it a zombie that seeks out places where the fungus can grow effectively and infect more ants via spore explosion.
Oh and theres also the Human Botfly basically bot flies burrow into the flesh of whatever species of animal prefixes their name... so the Human botfly burrow into people. There have been cases where a botfly larvae has been found inside a half empty human skull upon autopsy with an easy to trace entry hole burrowed through the skull.
