FINALLY!!!

After 5 hours of farming, I have finally obtained 80 dragon scales. Path of the Dragon + 3 here I come!

Yeah, I've been donating for about 5 minutes now and I'm at about 60 scales

Wow, that's a fair effort. I assume you never want to see a drake again..?

Also, for anyone interested in farming, I typically got 1-2 scales per run, and it took roughly 50 runs.

Actually...

It's a FULL dragon build, so I plan on maxing all dragon weapons.

Thanks, and for anyone that doesn't think it's worth the extra 50 scales, trust me, IT IS. The roar is insanely overpowered, I staggered Havel with it, while he was behind his shield! Then I did a strong claw attack for 700 DAMAGE! 5 hours well spent.

Yeah I was really happy with the BB glitch. Seriously, it takes me like 4 hours of doing it, and I always like to play dragons. I hated that. I remember in 1.03, you could get scales faster by beating the game 8 times rather than farming drakes.

So update from last night.

I've maxed the Dragon Tooth and the Dragon Greatsword, and I found my new favorite combo

You bait them into side-strafing by using the head stone, then turn about 45 degrees and use the Dragon Greatsword R2, gets 'em everytime! I'm so *** glad I farmed for this.

Wasn't the range of the dragon roar severely nerfed in patch 1.06? Haven't seen a single dragonoid since then (though they weren't exactly common to begin with).

Before the update that increased the drop rate, I calculated it would take me a month of farming drakes just to get the torso stone. I actually did it for a few days before deciding it wasn't worth it. Nowadays, it just taking a day or two to get to +3, I never mind farming quite as much, and I almost always PVP as a full dragon.

Like I said above, IT IS WORTH IT.

I've only lost about 2 out of 30 matches so far, and the roar isn't necessarily used for the damage boost IMO. It can break peoples shields VERY easily, and following with a jumping attack will get them off guard.

The fire breath blows, but it is really good for baiting, allowing for some great combos. I think it really shines with the dragon weapons from my perspective.

Nicely done. I wish I could have helped, on my legit character I have 78 dragon scales, and that is because someone traded me them because I gave them 14 demon titanite. No idea why he needed them so much. But if you are on xbox I would love to fight you, as I have never met a dragon-build that has won against me. They get stunlocked so easily, espiecially if they have the crazy idea to not use the wolf ring.

Lol, I put up a trade request about 1 hour into farming but no one replied

I'm not done with the build yet though, I'm only SL 90, just chillin' in the forest killin' scrubs

But, if two people wig out of the tourney Sunday since I'm an ALT, I might just be crazy enough to use this...

Claws if you're against someone with little poise or a low stagger weapon, but if they're in heavy armor or have a greatsword, you might want to pull out a weapon. I just have my claws out to start, but if I can't do any real damage I switch.

The dragon's roar will stagger small shields and smaller medium shields, the Iron Round, Sunlight, Sliver Knight, Black Knight, upgraded, and with enough Stamina, will not be knocked back. Greatshields will not be knocked back. 2 handing a shield, usually does not knock back, even small shields.

Be careful as well. People can roll through it, and if used at the wrong time will kill you. It can also be avoided if you roll after stagger, unless you are insanely close, and have a very fast weapon. The dragon claws make better backstabbing weapons (AR400 with extra crit, unknown how much), because of their lacking moveset.

Dragon's Breath is like an unlimited bow, if you use it like that, its just terribly slow. Since it drains so much stamina, its not very effective except in safe short bursts. However, I use it to kill hackers by turning on unlimited stamina if they cheat. Its so funny, its almost impossible to escape from.
