What you should keep your eyes on:

Utilizing a catalyst, Fire Magic was cast. Pyromancy possibly united to Sorcery like in Demon Souls. The Fire Magic cast was represented by the symbol of a Fireball.

At 3:00, a pebble of fire damaged the enemy just as the player rolled away. It is not quite understandable what happened whether this was an effect of rolling with a torch or a stray projectile.

Other things to note: The yellow body magic also belongs to the Templar Knight in the same video, which means either the Templar Knight utilizes sorceries, or all branches of magics have been unified into one (or, into 1 means of casting). However, another thing to note is that that magic was greyed out for a split second, before it actually lighted when spells switched again, while no other magics did that. This could represent a minor bug in the demo or that that specific magic was altered for the purpose of the demo.
Magic Weapon. Quite literally, a magic weapon. A 270 degree slash by transforming your catalyst into a lightsaber (please recommend a more appropriate name). Just that, a 270 degree slash? I think they will have more "movesets" for our catalysts. Its symbol is a blue sword.

While cycling through the spells, the following symbols were present: A yellow body (similar to Templar Knight's), A ray of blue light (Possibly Soul Arrow), A spear of blue light (Possibly Soul Spear [it was the spell casted at the beginning of the segment]), A mass of blue lights similar to the previous symbols (possibly a volley of Soul Arrows), A fireball under the impression that it curved (could either represent whips or a homing fireball)

Well, hey look, we got a lot of speculation material.

I think one of the spells he cast was similar to Gwyndolin's soul arrow soulmass.

I did notice that at the very end of the sorcerer part, it looked like the character was hunched over a little bit. Which I think would be cool, if your character got different mannerisms depending on their health.

Giant magic blades? Duel wielding attacks? Unique backstabs? Fireballs from my staff? Dark Souls Devs, why do you tempt me so much.

Also, if I cannot have special duel-wielding combo's for two greatswords I will be disappointed.

    MAGIC FOREVA
If i am not mistaken the sorcerer used the lost fire sorceries that had become pyromancy after the chaos event in isilith. The other sorceries did look like a version of soul spear. Also the character was somewhere dark showing that once again we will be venturing underground.
Oh and instead of lightsaber we can just call it soul sword.

I absolutely hate sorcery, but there is no denying that the magic in DS2, from what we have seen so far, looks awesome. I really like the casting animations, and the magic weapon is going to be fun to Dodge.
As for any magic speculation, I can't help. Personally, I think pyromancy will make a return. Now, sorcerers can wield both fire- and regular magic. By the looks of it, however, it is unlikely.

MAYBE just MAYBE the staff ( resembling the izolith staff) is what it appears but has the power to cast the pyromancy just as its original intent to do both sorcery and pyromancy maybe we might find catalyst like the beasts talisman in demon's souls that can cast miracles AND sorcery. it's not completely lunatic but will make things a lot more interesting. We are gunna wind up with lower end catalysts that can cast two times of magic at a decent level but then extreme catalysts that can specialize in one type that just kills the competition if you are dedicated to just that one

    Looks like Pyromancy is gone.

    Huge win in my book.

Considering Fire is now part of Sorceries, the branch could actually be much more varied now. I mean, we have Souls Swords now. I think weapons had better get some good additions because it looks like magic will be leading in this game.

Also, Dual-wield Greatswords? Weak. Dual wield Ultra Greatswords. Let the slaughter begin.
