Meh Some days are better than others and we don't really have that many online people as of the time of this post. Plus it is Friday and the forum is normally quiet during the weekends.

I say it was bound to happen at some point. Nothing stays the same forever twig. Besides there are only 27 people on and not many knew posts in the forum today.

A thread about why the chat is dead when no one in this thread is in the chat to make it not dead. The irony of this is too much to bear.
A reason for this may be in part because most of the American part of the forum would be gone for most of the day yesterday because of the Fourth of July.

If you want the chatbox to be alive why don't you do something like... I don't know... Frequent it yourselves?

To build on what Melle said. You should not expect that people are there to keep the chat alive.
A few times, I've sat there alone and saw people join and go. People can not expect that it is going to be active, complain that it is not when they are not doing anything about it.
For example, OP could go to the chat and make it more active, instead of sitting on the sidelines and then logging out when no one is there.

I think folks need to cool it. The OP was asking if there was something malfunctioning, not complaining that no one was in there. No one is relying on anyone to be in there to keep it "alive". It is there for the entire community to use as often as they would like to and whenever the mood for instant chat strikes them. I am not sure where the bitterness is coming from because no one is complaining.

It may come off as him just asking if the box was messing up but when you yourself can go into the box and sit around for maybe an hour you'll see people log in and out THUS making it so it's not "broken" THUS why it's complaining to us, those who used to regular it to come back to it.
I'll put it in a way so you can get it.

Activity dropping on gaming sites over the summer and on long weekends is not a mystery nor the end of the world. People have things to do, families to take on holiday, and bbqs to go to.
It has also been a while since the release of the game and we are looking at 8 months before Dark Souls 2, so a drop in activity is expected. This is not a bad thing, it will help everyone re-focus on working on preparing the wikis for the activity that will come with the game release.
On the performance issues, the forums are working fine for me and I have not noticed any delays. I use Firefox mostly. If anyone is having loading issues please let us know with your browsers and time of the slowdowns so we can both check with forumotion for maintenance windows and make them aware of browser problems.

That train of thought is illogical when used to conclude that the OP was complaining. Furthermore if that was a snarky tone directed at myself then it is further unwarranted. Bottom line, the comments were rude and regardless of where they are coming from, I don't expect to see them again.
