What type of divine weapon do you usually create for non-clerics to use in Catacombs?

In the past, I've always used weapons like the Battle Axe and the Claymore, since they shatter the skellies. Anyone ever used a Greatsword, if they have the stats for it? What weapons do you like to use to put the little devils down for good?

Usually I just book it for the necromancer with my main weapon. But, provided I'm not on a Faith build with my own Divine weapons then I tend to, if I decide I want something to just quickly take care of the skellies I'll just used the Occult Club I find in Havel's stash in Anor Londo after I revert it at a blacksmith.

What about during the Nito fight? I was thinking of a sword that might keep these from coming back?

I usually get bum-rushed by his minion skellies before he even gets near. My club is more than enough to take them out before Nito arrives.

I usually just use the Silver Knight's Spear to avoid having to craft an actual divine weapon.

I just used divine club +5 in catacombs.
Against Nito I just get up close and personal. He kills his own minions, so you don't have to

I have a divine+10 bastard sword just for the occasion. Mostly because those skeletons are a lot like said sword.

I like the divine version of the Gargoyle's Halberd because of it's wide swing.

Usually just a Divine Crossbow with Heavy Bolts, or Havels descended Occult Club, or if I've the Dex (not usually) the SKS.

The Gargoyle's Halberd is one of my favorite weapons overall. I think this is the first time I've seen anyone cite it as one, though.Green__Eagle wrote:I like the divine version of the Gargoyle's Halberd because of it's wide swing.

It is better for a low-level guy; but I just used a+15 on my SL231 guy on the way to Gwyn.

I make a +5 divine dagger for almost every character. Backstabbing is almost the only thing you need to do down there.
Then in NGs, I just use the Hornet's Ring.
Although, I'll admit some characters go straight to Pinwheel not even bothering with the board.

1. Get occult club in anor londo
2. Take it to any blacksmith in Lordran and make it divine club +5
3. You have your weapon for multiple playthroughs.

In the catacombs I normally just rush the necromancers that summon the skeletons back and kill them. It's a lot of fun to be honest, sometimes I get surrounded by skeletons and it gets a bit intense dealing with them all.
I used to use a +5 divine dagger or +5 divine bastard sword on my earlier playthroughs though.

For low-level catacombing I snatch Astora Sword from the Undead Dragon in the Valley. It's inherently divine and cheap to level. Giant skellies are another story. I tend to stick with claymore because of its requirements and versatility and sufficient for anything the area throws at you.

On my SL122 faith build I also use the +10 divine Claymore, it's damage starts to shine once you get to Faith 35 and above. It scales with a B in faith(on the occult path it even scales with an A).
Just for fun I carry a +10 divine Zweihander and for it's mighty dmg.
For lower levels the above mentioned Astora's sword would be a good choice, it's generally fast and the R2 is a useful stab/thrust but it lacks reach. The divine modifier is 120 and it scales with a C in faith.

I use a handy little weapon called "killing the necromancer". I can't be asked to make/find a weapon that deals Divine damage and after the Catacombs, you really don't need it anymore since the giant skeletons and skeleton beasts die like normal.
To me, killing one necromancer without a Divine weapon is easier than killing the occasional skeleton with a Divine weapon.

I forgot to mention that in the catacombs I always just kill the necromancers too. I only use the occult club modded down to divine +5 for Nito's skeletons to make sure they stay down. Even on NG+, nito approaches so slowly that +5 is plenty for taking them out, especially with PW.
