Thoughts/Advice on my 'Vampire Hunter D' build?

Hello Fellas


I've been messing around recently trying to come up with a 'Vampire Hunter D' build (check my Avatar for those who aren't aware of who the great man is) and i've come up with the following:

The armour choice is pretty self-explanatory... It has to be as black as black really.
I've decided to go with a Chaos Claymore as my primary weapon - Probably the closest weapon on Dark Souls I can think of to D's blade... i've also paired it with the Leo ring for a little extra counter-attacking punch to my thrust attacks


I've tried to mix up my miracles abit - I like the mix of defensive and offensive miracles (I've tried to keep them as 'D' esque as possible)


Anyway, what do you guys think? Any improvements you'd suggest?

I worry about the Clay's scaling with the low Strength and DEX stats. Maybe it's be better for you to seek a different weapon.

The Leo Ring won't really add a whole lot of damage since the damage is split. So, you might as well lower that endurance and get 300 more HP, along with 32 stamina by using the Ring of Favour and Protection. Then, use the rest for Faith so that your miracles can hit harder (and, change your talisman to a Darkmoon Talisman).

I was kinda trying to make a build that didnt involve the ring of FAP... Hence the inclusion of the Leo ring.

Although, when it's obvious how many stat points you can save just by equipping it, it's kinda hard to not include it your build...

At least with this one, the damage from the Claymore should be pretty good.

D doesn't have a crossbow (as far as i'm aware)... Although I suppose it would make alot of sense 

Dude, are you joking right now? Im slightly disappointed in your weapon choice Maplepop - Washing Pole is like, exactly D's blade AND moveset. The only thing that is different-looking is the hilt (which is probably closer-looking to Cursed Gsword of Artorias or BKS if you really wanna use a greatsword..)

Also, I think Pharis's Hat is a bit closer looking, but I get the Big Hat thing, its way cooler and D's hat is larger than Pharis's. Most of the time his hat has that point in the front like Pharis's, altho the angle in your avatar makes it look more like Big Hat. Also, maybe Witch Robe for its long cape-y-ness, and its still pretty dark in color ( wont make a difference in invasions)

Max Feminine features on a male character, extra pale obviously hehe


And looking at this page http://vampirehunterd.wikia.com/wiki/D, I think if I made a D build, I would do a 50 50 str/dex (superhuman abilities and all that, max damage for WP when you one-hand as well, fast cast times)

Ha, yeah I did consider the washing pole... But I would have to invest a few extra points to use it and it still wouldn't of hit as hard as the claymore. I dunno though...I may yet end up using the washing pole... It is supposed to be a cosplay after all!

Yeah, that giant 1hr2 stab on WP is totally D. Makes me think when he skewered that drawbridge golem giant's head through its mouth
