I thought I remembered something about Alvina warning you not to go looking for Sif. Just wondered if keeping him alive was required for staying in the Hunters? I'd like to clear the kings and do some farming in the Kiln before closing down the playthrough, but might like to keep getting ganked when I'm in the mood for self-flaggelation.

Yeah, she says that but it doesn't affect the covenant. I guess From - smartly - realized what a huge inconvenience that would be so they didn't implement it. Heck, you can kill Nito and remain a Gravelord, so yeah...

She'll eventually ask you to kill him anyways. I don't think progressing in the *core* game will cause any covenant betrayals.

With characters that want to join the Cat Cov, I always kill Sif, then join.
