I'm just getting to a point in it where I'm good enough at handling my day to day business that I have some breathing room to be creative. I have one save where I have this crazy complex fortress that I built over the remains of an abandoned bar. It's four stories of windy hallways, ropes, and stairwells, and I sleep in a tent at the top in a lookout tower, so if anything comes my way while I'm not ready for it I'll have time to respond, and all kinds of options for dealing with it. I'm trying to figure out how to farm properly right now too, so I'll have a replenishing food source.

Re: Random Off-Topic
It's really one of the great things about indie games. The devs aren't just parts of big faceless companies. They have an interest in people liking their games, so they work hard to make it happen through direct communication with the audience, and, at least these devs, are just making it because they're fans themselves and wanted a game to exist that was like it. It's all pretty great. Honestly it's a game I've wanted to exist for a long time too. It drops you into a huge world, and you survive until you die. Have to take care of everything that would entail in real life terms. I love it.

Re: Random Off-Topic
I just started inFamous 2 tonight. That's not remarkable. However, when it loaded I was surprised to see the PlayStation Move warnings. My wife got me the move controllers which, if you haven't tried them, are far and away the best motion sensing controls in the current generation. I could go on with details but in my opinion it's spooky accurate controls.
Anyway, not enough good games use it or it gets used poorly. Resident Evil 5 (a terrible game to begin with) really botched the move controls.
Long story longer, I ****ing love using the move for inFamous! Combine the smooth movement of an analog stick and the pinpoint accuracy of motion control and holy hell is it fun. All the normal buttons are pretty much in the right spot and everything just feels bad***. Takes some getting used to but once you're in...wow.
An example of how accurate the move is (a pleasant teal orb for this game), I'm missing some head shots I normally wouldn't because the small teeny tiny movements my hand normally makes are picked up by controller.
Final thought of this experience. I know a lot of people are worried about the light bar on the dual shock 4. Don't be. I've used the move a good deal in a variety of lightning conditions. It's more noticeable in the dark but even then, when you notice it (which is rare) it's usually a "sweet, that's cool" moment. Like the colors (the game sets the color and there's a huge variety).

Never used the move for that game, sounds like fun though. I'd try it out but I already sold it a few months back and even before that got bored after I platinumed it.
I'd definitely recommend completing the story at least once, I had a lot of fun with that especially with the fact that the game has multiple endings that you can get.

I'm gonna definitely try to beat that one. Loved the first game (only did the good side though). This one is shaping up even better so far.

Woohoo,my BF4 K/D is 3.4 (After one match). Haha. I'm liking the game but it has been freezing a lot which seems to be a common issue, hoping DICE will release a patch for it soon.

Some of you may recall my rant on how much I thought ICO sucked. I just finished Shadow of the Colossus.
That game deserves every once of praise it's received. Amazing

They look like a lot of fun from what I've been told and seen, especially Shadow of the Colossus.

Re: Random Off-Topic
SoTC is phenomenal in just about every way. I'd say it's a true one of a kind game.
ICO on the other hand...
After I stopped playing in disgust I read reviews and the tail end of the story and while I see a few things that I felt were charming there's so much wrong with it in my opinion it's not worth the time. I found myself aggravated near constantly by several flaws that repeat over and over. I read a lot of reviews that say the story and characters draw you in but, apart from the beginning, there's essentially zero character development or originality in the narrative. I could go on but essentially it'd be to keep saying they I think it's crap.

Re: Random Off-Topic
Aww. I really like ICO. I thought it was really original, considering it came out towards the middle of PS2's life, and thought the puzzles were really engaging. It wasn't really a game that was about plot or combat or anything like that. Was it? Isn't it about the puzzles?

Re: Random Off-Topic
The puzzles are alright but not anywhere near good enough for me to want to endure the awful "combat" sequences. I like the characters. Love the environment. But my biggest challenge with puzzles was that I'd try the right thing and it wouldn't work unless you were perfectly positioned so I'd try a bunch of wrong things and finally get the ideal angle to do what I meant to in the first place. A lot of reviewers praised the story but I got about halfway in and was not impressed. It gets a lot of style points and is very original in many ways but I felt it was a mess as far as the game.

Ugh Of god... Okay from now on I am putting a sign on the fridge that says to always throw out chocolate milk if it is 1/4 full and been there a week. Jesus that tasted like tonic water, raw eggs, bad vodka and old cheese with the sour sting of sucking a lime. Nasty.

Re: Random Off-Topic
Ok, that was pretty gross to read, so thanks Soris...
But getting to what I intended on responding when I came here, yeah, I heard "Lordvessel" by Tanooki Suit, and while I thought the presentation was class it just isn't a musical sound that appeals to me, so I didn't really like it.
I'm sure there are many who liked it more than I, however.

Re: Random Off-Topic
I bought the HD remastered combo, and played ICO for about 6 hours the first night, then picked up SotC the next day, and haven't touched ICO since. Just became another casualty of Dark Souls. So I don't really have enough experience with it to argue one side or the other. That was just my first impression. I'll post my impressions if remember to when I eventually get to it though.skarekrow13 wrote:The puzzles are alright but not anywhere near good enough for me to want to endure the awful "combat" sequences.
