It's hard enough to make your parents take video games seriously.

my dad plays dark souls and owns me at it too... his first comment is usually, "why did you hesitate you easily could've killed him there if you'd done _____"

Hey Sparkly your dad sounds a lot like me. I am always sending out messages to those I have helped in co op when I notice they are not making adjustments to certain styles they are facing and continue to die the same way over and over again because of that. I tend to believe dispensing advice will help them become better players but then I realize that I may be sending a message to a 10 yr old who doesn't know any better then smash and kill fighting style. Nor would they understand what I am trying to tell them. Especially if there is a language barrier which I have run into alot in this game. I have a friend on my list that co ops a lot with his son on Dark Souls. He tells me that he does the same thing I do in trying to help him get better. To me I think its really amazing and a testament to this game and how it can bring a dad and his son closer just like throwing a baseball or football around with your kid. Its cool.

The first thing my dad saw when I was playing was the gaping dragon.

What's not serious about a full-Havel wielding an axe the same size as his body doing ninja-flips?Enigma5991 wrote:It's hard enough to make your parents take video games seriously.

I wish my dad played games. Unfortunately my parents are the kind of people that, for lack of a better and less harsh term, demonize games and gaming and think it has had a negative impact on my life :|

I'd love to bring my PS3 to my parents house and show my Dad Dark Souls.
He used to be a big oldschool gamer and loved a challenge, I think that's one of the reasons why he stopped playing when games were getting overly-easy.
He played Pinball to Twisted Metal 2, and he owned.
Now that I think of it... He'd probably see the stats screen, huge menu, and hear me talking about all the different spells and weapon move sets... and he'd probably say "**** it" at that point. Haha.
