Star Wars Rogue Squadron on the PC with my joystick, I played it when I was three. All I did for the first few hours I played was crash into walls. 8)

Re: Your first game you played
Honestly can't remember. Its a toss up between super mario rpg, breath of fire 1, earthbound, actraiser, super metroid, donkey kong country 1/2, super mario world, duck hunt, Mega Man X, Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Killer Instinct. I've been playing games since before I can remember anything. The only thing I can say for certain is that the first game I beat was Super Mario Rpg. And since this thread opened up some nostalgia...

For me I think it was Jet Set Willy, Manic Miner or Sabre Wulf. I got a Spectrum when I was five and my mum's friend supplied me with tons of games (because they were super easy to copy). These are hard games if people here want a challenge.
Also.

Some of you might think this is torture to listen to, to me it's a sweet tune to my ears and yes game load times were this long and had a high tenancy to crash, thankfully it mostly happened at the start. So glad that the tape cassette is ancient history now.
One of the greatest puzzle platformer series ever created. I don't think a lot of today's youth would be able to appreciate how well thought out these were, plus the Dizzy series had fantastic controls compared to most games. The C64 physics are rubbish compared to the Amstrad and Spectrum versions.

Supposedly there's a land fill somewhere with millions upon millions of ET cartridges, the game was that bad. not feeling so old now with all the atari mentions. I'm debating whether it was Alex the kidd or wolfenstein 3-d i played first. We're talking consoles here now? because i've no idea what i played in an arcade first.

Super smash bros and donkey kong for the n64. Hard to remember but that was my first console and those two were my first.

Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. I still remember everything about that game, I even remember how frustrated I got at the very beginning because I didn't know what to do.

Ahhhhh! My first game(s)! I remember these fondly! Sonic Adventure for the Sega Dreamcast and Kirby 64 for the Nintendo 64. Perks of being the youngest in a big family, I got all my cousins games and ended up with a Dreamcast AND N64.
