Character carry-overs for another souls game?

First of all, it may be possible that they don't make a new souls game at all. If they did however, would you expect to see any dark souls characters carried over? It seems like they laid down a pretty solid story with plenty of options for another game, but seeing as only one main character (I think) was carried over from demon's souls - the pygmy. Does anyone think they might go a little deeper with the pygmy? Or make a side character like tarkus or havel a more important character? I wonder this because in a couple of the trailers (on this site in the media gallery) has tarkus or a few other characters around a bonfire near the chosen undead, which could just be symbolizing their appearance in the game. They could also follow the family of gwyn more and reveal where gwynevere is, or expand on solaire's story (I really thought he was as close to a main character as you can get other than yourself). Any thoughts or theories are welcome and call me out if I said something stupid

If he's the only character in both Demon's and Dark he HAS to be in the third one! C'mon! Hahahaha.

crest fallen i think is just what FROM put in to view what they think their game will do to you We just have to prove them wrong eh?

but yeah patches will carry over, I would love to see solaire again though he's cool.

Also the red dragon/long bridge combo will doubtless be put into the next game.
