Fastest way to PvP in a way you can learn from? Empty Fastest way to PvP in a way you can learn from?

Just curious what you guys think that the best covenant is to join to practice pvp? Is it better to get into a ring covenant (forest/dmb) so you can invade constantly or is it better to invade with the orbs (dmb/darkwraith)? I've been in human form getting invaded intentionally and i've noticed a net loss in humanity.

I want to get better but I also don't want to lose another 30 humanity and then have to go farm up a bunch just to keep dueling untill I can sustain a humanity pile.

Then DM is where its at. You can invade hollow so you don't need humanity. The burg and (to a lesser extent) kiln are popular dueling spots for 1v1 practice and the forest, anor londo, and archives are farmer filled scumholes for 2 or 3v1 practice. (londo isn't as bad as the other 2 in my experience)

The forest got me better at PvP, otherwise I'd suggest invading as a DW in an area you've beaten to gather up some humanity, then going to an area you haven't to host. I did this in Dukes and then hosted in PW w/ 15 or so until I was out, then rinsed and repeated.

I find Kiln (while it's not THAT honourable) you get plenty of 1v1, it's not to say they ain't flaskers or hornet's BS, but the variety of players you meet will help you develop as a PvP player. (this is where i recommend going to learn)

being a DM lets you invade as much as you want in any area without penalty of losing a bloodstain if you die, it lets you practice until you are confident enough to use red soap for duels or Red orb to invade above your level.

If you're desperate to practice dueling, like Ace said, hosting PvP in an area you havent cleared (not the forest) is a good way also to get a variety of people coming in. Just make sure you have dried finger so you don't wait 10-20 mins each time for an invasion if you do this.

I would say DW since you loose nothing when invading although you need to be human, people will punish you more and you invade up not down so you will have to learn by force.

I think he'd prefer a mantra of invading guys of similar or lower level to learn to fight than you throwing him in the deep end Yesuurd silly

    Within reason yes.

He needs to pick his areas well though so he doesn't invade way higher levels when there's three of them. Three man stunlocking **** doesn't teach you anything silly

It depends on the type of PvP you want to learn, and I think that would be based more upon area. If 1v2-3, Forest Hunters are the best for that. Duelling I'd say DW or DM in the Painted World, that's where I've managed to get the most duels.

Best way to learn is experience. I'd say hes better off as a dm both because i'm biased and because its invade, die, walk 4 steps, invade instead of invade, die, treck to bloodstain, invade. Sl really won't make much difference 90% of the time if hes above sl 80 or so anyways. its all player skill from there.

In PW and Dukes the 'trek to bloodstain' is like 4 steps too, you also get humanity if you win and don't have to only go after sinners (lesser chance of a failed invasion). Different strokes for different folks.

I agree that after SL80 you should be equipped enough and have enough stats to at least battle w/ pretty much everyone.

Here we all are suggesting and talking over various invasion forms to practice PvP, and we forgot the most important of all. Hosting.

Also watch PvP videos on Youtube at work winking. PhantomEWGF has some good tutorial videos, and sansviedotcom uploads a lot of pvp vids, both duels and forest/londo 1v2 or 1v3.

Nobody forgot, but the OP specifically said he was tired of hosting cause he was tired of farming humanity after net losses, which is understandable for someone new to PvP.
